Wat should i put my din at

this is most definitaly something that has nothing to do with site discussion and u need to tell us more info be smart about this ok?
 
What level of skier are you? What type of skiing do you do? What are the din settings on your bindings? (4-12 ect.) Do you have bad knees? Do you fall often?

I have the same questions, i have p18's on last years ar5's and i ski mainly park but some powder. Iam 6'2 and about 205. I have good knees and am pretty experienced. any idea?
 
im 6'2 about 190lbs. i ride my park skis at 8, my allmountain skis at 10 and my big sticks at 14. on super deep days i might turn my din up to 16 or so because loosing a ski in waist deep snow fucken sucks.
 
People should remember too, that depending on the brand of bindings changes what din you should set it at, Rossi and Look you can set a little less than what you would a salomon binding.
 
go to a shop, that way you don't fuck up, and possibly cost your self a ACL or othe type of injury for trying to set your own dins
 
actually, canuck, it doesnt matter what brand of bindings you have. thats the whole point behind DIN, is that its a STANDARD. also, dont let people on this site tell you what your DIN should be. suck it up, go to a shop, and pay $15 to have the bindings set how they should be set. there's more to making sure a binding releases correctly than just DIN. if your forward pressure is off, you can crank the bindings to 14 and still be able to turn your foot out of them. go to a shop.
 
No, it's supposed to be standard but it's not. Ask anyone who skis both Looks and Salomons, everyone rides their Salomons higher.

It depends on sole boot leghth, your wieght, and hieght, and skiing ability.

From there you can bump it up 1-4 depending on aggression of skiing.
 
depends on how easily you want to come out of your bindings. when i am skiing big mountain or sh*t you can't afford to mess around with then i set them higher, or for back country. for things, like new stuff i'm learning I might set them a little lower. early season i set them lower and as the season goes on i crank them up. it can be bad if they aren't high enough or if they are to low.
 
it's a bad idea to have your dins in the minimum or maximum range. the springs in it are either too loose, or have too much tension.. so if you have a 4-12, setting at 4,5 or 11,12 is a bad idea. your dins are always supposed to be set in the middle range, so around 6-10 in that case.
 
im 140 lbs 5 9 and will have fks 185s at 12 mainly got fks for the durability i broke 4 pairs of p10s last year!
 
It's true Looks are more consistant and can be set lower than Salmons. Not to mention Markers sometimes need to be set even higher still.
 
BTW the single biggest contributing factor to DIN recomendation is actually Boot Sole Length! And nobody even mentione it. The Smaller your boot the higher the din needs to be. That's why you here the know it all baddasses on here say they ride at 12 and higher, because they have super tight boots on to ski faster than everyone else.
 
if the bindings are mounted by a tech that knows what he's doing and all adjustments are made correctly, they are standard. i rode salomons for a solid three years with my din on 7.5. i ride my looks now on 7.5. i didnt prerelease with my salomons, cause guess what? the toe height, wings, and forward pressure were set correctly. i dont ski markers, but from having worked with them, i can say that they release just as true to DIN as any other binding on the market, except atomic; those things just suck horribly.
 
i weigh 140 and my dins on my s912's are at 9 and so far they have only popped off when they should have.
 
guys, sole length of boot (leverage), height, weight and skill level all play a factor in your setting. If you don't know what you like your dins at you probably arn't an "expert" or at least should go look at a chart in a rental shop.
