Washed-Up Skiers.

Definitely not "washed up" and never will be, but I am very fearful of the day that Pollard's career starts to mellow out skiing wise. With that gnarly injury last season, it seems reasonable to think things would wind down for him a bit. Hopefully not, but it will be a real bummer when it does happen.

Is it possible to be "washed up" and have a Pro model ski suit with Oakley?

Are people really this fucking dumb????

Where are you all getting your definitions of washed up from?!?!!??

Unless you define "washed up" this thread won't have any substance to it. I think its an interesting topic in skiing...but would probably take a little time to narrow down. Washed up to me is a sell out: like a rapper you used to like who sold out to make bad pop music.

So wouldn't the question be- who's skiing style/attitude/segments etc. did you love when they were up and coming or in their prime and now have eased off the gas and gone in a different direction?

The other thing is this: skiing is a young sport...you can be in your mid 20's and be considered a veteran or on your way out. That could have a lot to do with health, financial stuff, etc

marketable =/= not washed up

dumont used to be at the forefront of the sport, but now that he spends all his time training he doesn't really contribute anything except a pretty face.

I'd say he's pretty washed up, but lets wait until sochi 2014 to make that claim official

Really? Jon? The guy is sleeping with women straight out of maxim in lambos, racing World Cups in speedos and then making massive jumps for JOI that he throws down on.

Not washed up, OGs that did more in the sport than most ever will.

Miss worded thread but good idea, maybe learn more about the sport.

I want to know where the 3 Phils are now, Vincent Dorion, or Brad Holmes.

I looked at this post for a good 5 minutes in total disbelief

I can totally see where all of skiiermans hate comes from right now trolling or not, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to write coherent responses without just putting caps on and blasting everyone, NS in the last 2 days has been just incredible... winter really needs to be here

Anyway here is a recent picture of the oh so washed up Jon, look at him, not even hitting a rail, looser.

None of these guys are washed up but I have some questions:

Where is Peter Olenick? Matt Walker? Charles Gagnier? Just haven't seen them in segments in a while.

Also to answer the 20 dupe posts Mike Wilson is back with Line. And whoever said Spriggs is washed up -- he is working on backcountry triples and has a pro model out with Batallia that looks pretty sick.

LOL John Spriggs had a segment in a TGR movie this year. Not sure how that is washed up. I think his only problem is having questionable ski sponsors the last few years. I'm sure he'll be on the lookout again next year for a new one.

Dorion got unfairly pushed out of the sport, his last PBP part was pretty much paid for out of pocket. He is very bitter about skiing but has a family and a small business, life goes on.

Definitely not saying these are bad skiers! I listed them because they are some of my favorites, and "washed up" is a very loose term here. They all can shred harder than me. Not meant to be offensive. I want to see content from all of them!

I said Jon Olsen because He hasn't showed up as much in big movies and I don't see much of him as much anymore, he still is amazing.
