Just wanted to let you all know i bought an i pod on ebay for 62 with shipping, i was never sent the ipod, so i opened a cliam with paypal, 30 days later cha ching 62 back on my chard. Just wanted to tell you my story and scammers on ns who are reading this, thats right paypal get your money that you took.
 
how exactly do they do that? It seems like a lot of investigative work to me. granted, i don't have a paypal account and don't know anything about it so maybe I don't know some things that they require you to do when performing a transaction.
 
people contract for a lot more than $62. they don't want to be held liable for any negligence, so they probably have their own fraud/investigation dept
 
Paypal refunds your money for bunk ebay transactions. For anyone wiring money for transactions outside of ebay, you're pretty much fucked if you get a scammer. They are not liable, they will not go after the person who screwed you and they will not (in my experience anyways) care. Paypal outside of ebay is pretty dangerous, dont assume you will get your money back if you get screwed. That being said, its the easiest way to transfer money from party to party, and what I exclusively use. Know your buyers, know your sellers.
 
Just got double scammed on two items bought the same day from different sellers. I bid and bought on one item, and then bought the other item from the seller after the auction ended with no bids. Long story short, neither of the sellers sent my shit and i filed a claim for both. the one i bid on was resolved in my favor and it says i got the money back, but it hasn't shown up in my account yet. the other item not actually bought through ebay is waiting for a response from the seller but he hasn't replied, so im not sure what happens after that.

moral of the story, don't trust anyone
