Warren milller movies suck

Every newer Warren miller movie is just slo mo powder turns mixed with bad skits and yapping about the “euphoric feeling of powder” and the formula doesn’t change.
 
my friend who skis ttwice a year and has never watched a Keeshlife edit is hyped to ski this season after seeing the new one so at least I’ll have someone to ski with this year

Sure they aren’t as “good” to people like us. But they aren’t meant to be trendy and to have niche music in them, or to even showcase JUST the tricks. Gotta have some respect. Warren Miller was the guy who essentially birthed the genre of ski films. You have to change your perspective when your watching a warren Miller film if you want to enjoy it. Usually they have some sort of story. If your expecting something like child labor then your already lost. I agree I’d prefer to watch other things and WM can get boring but you can’t just say “Warren Miller movies suck”.
 
I'm trying to watch his '72 movie "Winter people" , I wanna see what the culture was like back then.

But so far I could only find it behind Outside+ paywall. Anyone got a link ? I'm ok paying for just the movie, but don't wanna subscribe to Outside

I can say WM movies suck because they suck and are boring af. Even reddit has realized that.
 
Warren Miller deserves respect. Warren Miller Entertainment does not. How many times do we have to go over this?
 
If i wanted to watch ads for two hours i’d just watch a football game.

actually football might be more entertaining.

Warren miller ENTERTAINMENT tried to end level1 in 2009, shitty people and even shittier videos. Warren miller is cool as hell and a true pioneer, to bad his grandchildren sucks

Its always awkward asf when your ski-adjacent friends are like "yoo check this out, a ski premiere in town this weekend" and it's inevitably Warren Miller or TGR and you have to explain to them why it's actually not cool....

Gusto lol. Jokes aside, I've been enjoying all the videos that have been dropping but I do think there are certain formulas that people are leaning on and I'd like to see more creativity for future videos, very generally speaking.

+1 for fuck WME you clearly didn't know that Mr. Miller isn't involved with WME anymore.

I agree that what Warren has done is legendary and created ski movies, but he hasn't been involved with WME for over a decade. Their movies are the literal worst ski movies that are made every year, even for a general audience they do a bad job IMO - TGR/MSP do a far better job of appealing to the general audience while making an entertain product.

WME is trash dude.

I don’t disagree at all WME is not good. But all I was getting at was that Warren Miller back in the day pioneered ski movies. And even if some of the movies are not considered as exciting, it doesn’t make them “suck”. I haven’t seen any WME movies in the last ten years. But even if it’s trash, it’s tough to label all the movies as shitty. Just wanted to point out saying “Warren Miller Movies Suck” is way too much of a broad generalization. And that I don’t agree with that statement. But yeah, fuck Warren Miller entertainment and what they have been doing for the last while.

Trust me dude, WME movies have been DOG SHIT for 10+ years at least, they weren't good the last time you watched them and they are 100x worse now. You can say the movies suck without disrespecting the legacy.

haha yeah my best ski friend (who's decent at skiing and has a giro ledge!) will occasionally send me tgr or wme clips and im just like i thought you were better. i showed him zootspace and he loved it.

dude OP clarified that the recent movies were trash. none of us are talking about the older ones, even from before 2010 they were legit imo. totally valid to call the ones in the past 10 odd years trash.
