Does anybody else think that he is one of the single most influencial people in the history of skiing?

I was thinking about it today cause i saw one of his films, and I realized that his films first introduced skiing to the population, then they showed the progression of the sport year by year in terms of both equipment and style. I think that's pretty cool honestly cause like no other ski associated company has been making movies as long as him (that I know of, correct me if I'm wrong) and 50 some years of the worlds best skiing and the ultimate history of modern skiing...

Warren Miller shows where skiing has already been not where it's going the content in his videos are terrible but he is the best narrarator

 
ya he tottally made our sport popular and funny. we don't really apreciate him enough and i think skiing would be in a different situation right now if he didn't come along

Now that I think about it, he's kinda the serogate (sp?) father of skiing... or maybe not, but like I said, he definetely does show both the past and future of the sport..

its surrogate. and even if you dont like his movies, you should have tons of respect for him. without Miller, we wouldnt have Jonny D. or Scott Gaffney. newschoolers shouldnt be viewed as nihilists, so have some respect for those who made skiing what it is. i do agree though, if he made a jib flick it would be sooooo good because his movies are always hollywood quality

nothing means the start of ski season more than his voice. It doesnt matter that his films dont show that much new school stuff (his son makes them anyway) his voice is golden

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day
 
warren millers a god. i remember back in the day when i was a little tyke id put a little trampoline behind my sofa, take the pillows off and put them on the floor and watch warren miller movies while doing 3s and flips over the couch. good times.

Yeah Warren Miller is sick, sure he doesn't just have freeskiing but thats the great thing about his films, a bit for everyone. It certainly has introduced a heap of people to skiing. And you're right; he is the best narratur, pity Kurt is starting to do more of that stuff.

I love last years when those dudes went to the army training and had to jump in the water, lol. And a few years ago when they had that sand hill skiing. And can't forget those dudes with their home made ski ramp and snow. But the best segment was in Cold Fusion, the clip to the song Click Click Boom.

I see him as our ambassador to the public. I haven't seen any of his recent movies, but I know he has more acess to the public, and is the only portal to newschool skiing most people get, I give him props even if most of his movies are just turning in the powder.

Fifty was a sick movie. I saw the one he did the next year and it sucked. I havent bothered to watch any of the later ones, though I'd like to. He's still got Seth, JP and some other skiers in them. Well he used to.

yah... even though his movies arent toally freeride oriented, like, who the fuck cares.. its good to watch everything else sometimes.. and some of the shots he takes are amazing... like wow... some of the lighting storms, and i dunno, hes sooper creative and artistic, and i think how he blends the skiing with the nature is really cool, and props to him for keeping his own style and not going with the flow.. stayin true

warren miller is the greatest. he created the ski movie. i don't live in a ski town, and when i was younger (because i didn't travel much for skiing like i do now) the only ski influence i had was when iwas out of town, and warren miller videos. don't diss warren miller. yes yes, if he did more freeride or freestyle that would be awesome, but he's one of the people who helps hold the industry and the history and soul of skiing together.
