DISCLAIMER: I fully support Level 1 Productions in this case. However, I don't think that boycotting the company is the answer. While it is an enticing idea, it will not do anything to show the magnitude of this case or the closeness of the skiing community. In fact, I believe boycotting the film would cause some deep rifts to form in the community. But if we do this, we may just bring the community closer than ever.
Violence or even picketing isn't the answer. By doing that, you're doing the same thing WMEG is doing. Ideally, we should support the movie by going to it. Go to the movie wearing a t-shirt that says something along the lines of "I support L1P." Don't talk shit about the movie (Dynasty) or say anything about Refresh. Just go to the movie and support it - for Warren Miller (the person) and for the athletes in the film. You don't have to like the production company. Also go to your local Level 1 premiere of Refresh and support it. Again, don't talk shit about Dynasty. Just go, and (perhaps more enthusiastically) support Level 1, Berman and the athletes.
Think about it; this is an IP lawsuit. They are suing L1P because they think that by including an interview and voiceovers with Warren Miller, Level 1 is causing irreparable damage to WMEG. By supporting this movie (even for this ONE LAST TIME), we would be showing the fact that the ski industry is small and supportive of each other. Sure, there's competition, but it's mostly friendly competition. We'd be showing them that by including Warren Miller in Refresh, L1P hasn't decreased our interest in WMEG's films; but rather, increased it.
Do this or don't participate in the Dynasty premiere (whether as a fan or as a picketer). Protesting is NOT THE ANSWER.
