Warren Miller Has Ruined Skiing

not gonna lie, i don't even know what the fuck a causerie is and i'm probably just butthurt because i got trolled so fuckin hard by this thread.
but still, it sounded legitimately serious and could easily be the real opinion of some kids on this website. had you been an orange or green name, i would have taken it as sarcasm. but given that you were a member i am not familiar with, i assumed you were some idiotic kid.
 
you're an idiot, warren miller laid the foundations for the sports documentary genre of film. all of his movies are a testament to how awesome skiing is. just because he said something about a double cork 12 in something he narrated, doesn't mean he is to blame for what skiing has become. the pro athletes that are competing as well as the judges that are judging the competitions are the ones who have made the competition scene what it is today, mainly the judges. When back to back doubles win every competition, pro's aren't going for the smoothest run, it's just a huckfest, which is why ski movies are a better example of what skiing should be.
 
what does this kid mean that there is no progression or adventure in skiing? aren we seeing triple flips and andy perry's "wizard tricks," and didnt i just get back from crushing and unskied backcountry line? WHO THE FUCK IS THIS KID?

Warren miller fucked skiing? Thats pretty much like saying god fucked the world. Without Warren, ski filming wouldnt be where it is today.

You know, this actually worked as a test. I made a thread when I reached 6666 posts a few weeks ago, so I used my old sn, NotThatGuy, in the mean time.

I think there's a direct correlation between post count, karma and recognition as a member when it comes to people looking at posts in certain ways. I'm almost positive that this wouldn't have gone on so long with so many clueless people if I wasn't using my old sn.

I agree that when someone with a low post count makes a Sarcastic thread, many just think they have their head up their ass. I will make a concerted effort to work on that.
