Warren Miller Has Ruined Skiing

WM opened the door for other ski films, showing that there is a market for them and they can be successful. he did a great thing for the entire ski community.

Warren Miller has influenced skiing over the last century more than probably anyone else. I guarantee skiing wouldnt be where it is now if not for him. Oh and BTW, skiing will never be ruined.

I would say that, if anyone sold out, it was Kurt Miller for selling his dad's company to Time, inc. I would have been pissed.

To everyone hating on this guy for this thread let me first say that I agree with you BUT also that you owe it to yourselves to stop trolling and back up your argument. Warren Miller is in my opinion the most influential man in the sport of skiing throughout the last several decades and to make a claim that he "ruined Skiing" is simply ignorant. You speak about skiing as though it is contain in a vacuum in the world of extreme sports; try watching a Snowboard super pipe event, or a snowmobile big air... They all have something in common, they're going bigger and bigger. Coming from someone who was going hard when the first pair of 1080's came out let me just say that every tall tee wearing tween ought to thank warren miller for keeping the sport alive during era of snowboard domination.

While a nice dissertation and eloquently written, maybe even a persuasive argument, you've taken Mr. Miller's statement way too seriously. Give the man a break. He lives and dies skiing. Yes, he's a businessman, but in the end he is a skier and has given more to the sport each year than most of us will in a lifetime. Just enjoy.
 
Maybe spend a little more time on picking up subtle tone and satire and less on sounding like someone more educated than yourself.

Haha, I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. And about the UNdetectability, it's almost word-for-word in causerie "format" and I wouldn't really call the last two paragraphs that subtle.

I'm glad some people got a few laughs from it and that's all that matters to me.

A troll is someone who wants to create controversy by saying stupid or ignorant stuff. If I would have said "Fuck warran milla he gay, fukcing fagg he ruined tha skis with his punkass" or smoething along those lines, yes, trolling at its finest/worst.

This isn't an attempt to troll anyone, I'm kind of shocked at most of the replies as it seems almost no one even read through it or looked beyond what they thought they saw as hate.

And lastly, I just wrote this as it came out, then I thought a picture should spruce it up and make it even more obvious, so 10 minutes. Of course this means that I need a life.

warren miller introduced me to skiing. I had never watched/been skiing before until I happened across a warren miller film on tv one day.

While vague, I doubt I'd ever have been as eager to go if I had no seen that movie (off the grid maybe, it's probably like 10-12 years old now)

i was suggesting that maybe what he wrote was just too retarded to be funny, and the sarcasm wasn't as clear as it could have been. therefore, it wasn't well-written sarcasm.

I very much disagree, Warren Miller doesnt want to be part of his movies anymore, so having "Warren Miller's Wintervention" be bad quality, doesn't really make him want his name slapped on the cover of it.
