i was wearing a black line trucker hat. yellow or grey t shirt. dont think i saw you. i was probably with 2 girls or 3 girls or 3 guys.

yeah i was at the detroit one as well and it was sick. fall out boy was sweet. they had to stop playing several times because the crowd got out of control. i definitely recommend going to the warped tour if u still can.

ahah ok heres the sitch with FOB at warped.

10,000+ out of the 35000 (detroit is the biggest because alot of the midwest make the commute) at warped tour were at FOB. see, this meant all of those TRL loving teenie bopper girls waited to get close. i came 15 mintues before they went on and after it started, was basiclly forced pushed into the front. i must have seen 25+ girls pass me trying to get out crying. 1/2 with bloody noses. they played amazing, but they had to stop a few times because security had to go and pull out kids that were knocked out. the whole thing reminded me of The Who concert in the 70's where all those people died. i crowed surfed. it was tight. talked to pete a little, but it was A LOT less than i did at any of their last shows. he had to go "do an interview" and the rest of the band was already in the bus because if "they stayed around, they'd get mobbed"-according to pete.

soooo many crying girls that got squished or crying because they dropped their oversize white sunglasses...

back to the original

^^Haha.... thats not really how it was at BUffalo, like there were only a few of those girls but most of them were like punk rockers with like the blackclothes and makeup and like dyed hair, it was entertaining watching like everyone, there were a few fat girls walking around with like backless shirts and nasty back hair

Oh my god, there were so many people there that I just had to wonder why anyone would let them out in public. Like, I like punk music alot but the furthest I'll go is on ocassion I'll wear a band shirt, thats it. I still dont understand the plaid pants with like a boy scout shirt on and spikes and studs and shit everywhere and then of course the mohawk. That shits just wierd. But hey, how was strung out?? I really wanted to see them but they went on like right at 11:15 and we didnt get there til like at least 12. And skogenjake, yeah i didnt c anyone there in a line hat, if i had I woulda gone up to em and been like, u ski? no way me too. But anyway, i was wearing a black k2 shirt. O and the craziest thing was. A friend of ours went with some girl I dont really know but i guess she went crowd surfing and broke her neck. She had to be rushed off to the hospital and probably spent the night there.

I ski at the crappiest hill ever...

yea i saw a girl get dropped on her head and she walked out holding her neck..... i dont mind like the plaid pants and stuff and like aviators but like i dont understand the spikes, chains and black shit and like the guys who wear makeup... kinda girly and freaky

I had a blast. I was most stoked to see Billy Idol. He showed up for the Sacramento show. Undearoath, emery, and from first to last threw a sick show too.

And what's with everyone and fallout boy these days? Their first cd was good (for pop-punk). When they came out with it 2 years ago, no one seemed to know of them or like them. Then they come out with a newer cd that is weak in comparision, get some exposure, and now they are everyone's favorite.

warped tour is shitty this year, I went to Montreal a couple years ago when it was still all good bands.

I saw Bad religion, Mad caddies, Less than Jake, Big D, suicide machines, Dropkick murphey's and Rx Bandits. Those were the good old days.

i don't want this to get out too far but i heard ninthward has sex with armada-Twix_182

if you like the music for the music, that's fine. but I know alot of people who are just jumping on the fallout boy bandwagon because it's the cool thing to do.

ya i was there. it was soo awesome!

Stewie: Well, I'd love to stay and chat, but you're a total bitch.

thats so fucking true, new CD sucks, but because MTV says its cool, everybody loves it.

is it just me or are bands like Zao and Dillinger Escape Plan really out of place on Warped? they shoulda been on Sounds of the Underground, which by the way was awsome.

yeah that's true with FOB, it's just because they got a little bit of exposure and now there's just tons of girls singing along with 'sugar we're goin down' and as soon as they play a song off of 'take this to your grave', they all push their way to the back crying and a bit bloody. it's actually pretty funny.

but anyway, i went to the Minneapolis, MN show and it was fucking amazing. best time i've had in years. billy idol got booed, it was hilarious.. he played a 50 minute set instead of his scheduled 30 minute set. he got to the 30 minute mark and screamed "i'm gonna play a few more songs because i'm billy idol and i can do whatever the fuck i want!!". meanwhile, the next band had to start playing on the second stage or they'd miss thier set... it was the offspring. that pissed everybody off. i don't care who you are, you don't play over top of the offspring, they're fucking epic.

i think i'm gonna go to the philadelphia, PA show on the 12th, it's gonna be sweet, the lineup is a bit different so it'll be a nice change.

screw that. My friend had the older cd and i was never really interested in it, it kinda sucked. And then they came out with there new one and he was telling me how good it was and i was like, "no, its just another simple plan cuz they play it on mtv" and then the more i heard sugar, were going down, i just had to accept it, thats a damn good song. So then i started to listen to the cd more and theres alot of good shit on there.

take this to your grave was one of the best albums ever in my opinion. it just never gets old.

from under the cork tree is different. more melodic, but not really "bad". certain songs like "nobody puts baby in the corner" was an electric version of the same song off of my heart will always be the b side to your tounge, so if you liked their other albums, you probably like this one. sugar were going down could have been on take this to your grave. it sounds just like the other tracks from it, so really its hard to call cork tree "shitty". they've come along way musiclly from evening out with your girlfriend, but you can stilll hear the same influence.

i like them so much not only because of the music they make, but the show they put on live, and the overall attitude of the band to their devoted fans. fuck the new crop of fans, its still not hard to meet up with the band after a show. yeah, it was easier a year ago, but pete's said that he doesnt like the new bullshitting "i luv u pete ur so hot" kind of fans. so as long as you dont rush up to them trying to give them cookies in the shape of a heart, then you'll see why i think they are such an amazing band.

back to the original

^ i thought everyone liked cookies in the shape of a heart. lol.

the denver show was huge. sold out day with 30,000 people there. we passed out like 500 fata/bled samplers in an hour at the vagrant booth. madness. thrice was my favorite this year, as there weren't as many good bands as in the past. it also seemed like there were fewer bands on the bill this year, too.

I went yesterday in Scranton. In my opinion, Fall out boy and My Chemical Romance both sucked. I freakin loved Hawthorne Heights, The Starting Line, and Story of the Year. Atreyu put on an amazing show too. Overall, it was one of the most fun times ive had. Especially the Plastic-bottle War of EPIC proportions...

I went to it in VA, it was tight. Atreyu and Thrice were awesome. If I had a dollar for every pair of huge white sunglasses, plaid shorts, and shirts that say "Fall Out Boy is for lovers" I'd be so rich.

yeah, for our show (minneapolis) fall out boy came out a little bit weak but then picked it up and actually sounded pretty good. but, i will never go to see MCR again unless they're on a tour like Warped with many other bands. it was such a waste.. they're horrible live. i went to Taste of Chaos in Philadelphia and they sucked so bad. skipping entire verses and leaving out other parts here and there and the sound was mixed really bad. same thing for warped.

but yeah i agree, atreyu kicked ass, they surprised me, i thought they'd be worse live. Hawthorne Heights and Senses Fail were freakin incredible.

I'd say that other than the obvious main stage bands, the ones that really kicked ass were on the SmartPunk and Ernie Ball stages. Bleed the Dream, Emery, Boys' Night Out, Split Habit, Opiate for the Masses, Hopesfall.. One that really surprised me was The Matches.. after hearing/seeing them live, it's almost not even fun to listen to the CD anymore. they're so perfect live, and have so much more energy than the studio recording.

Don't get me wrong, I like thrice alot, but I really don't think they put on a good show at all. They sounded great, but they didn't put on a show at all. They just kind of stood around. A big part of being a strong musician is also being a strong entertainer.

billy idol > everyone else on warped tour

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

okay, maybe in your opinion...

but when you are a guest on someone else's tour, and are only there because you want to promote your new album (which is, by the way, copying the musical style of the bands who are your hosts), you play by their rules and you take the back seat to everyone else's shows. billy idol was fucking pathetic on warped tour, he didn't belong there. he's old, out dated, and noone wanted to see him. he got booed and people walked away from the stage, which was appropriate.

"Im a hardcore kid and im an only an elitist asshole from time to time. Like right now. Hardly any of you know what hardcore really is."

haha, what a dick. you find the most unheard of bands and become a 'fan' and tell everyone else that thier music sucks and they're not hardcore enough for your underground 'scene' music... and then come here to this thread and make fun of more people's music... hmm, if only we all could be that cool..

if everybody that goes to warped tour is..

1.) gay

2.) 14 years old

3.) wearing chick pants

..then everybody who listens to 'your' hardcore music wears trenchcoats and carries shotguns in them and are a bunch of gothic fuck ups.

wait, that's a little too general now isn't it?

I was being just a little sarcastic. But I honestly dont like and have never liked any of the bands on warped tour also im not some douche who tries to act cool say I listen to bands before anyone knew who they are. anyway your a fucking tool shed what does "wears trenchcoats and carries shotguns in them and are a bunch of gothic fuck ups" have to do with the hardcore scene. You must have us confused with kids who wear bondage pants from hot topic and listen to rob zombie. sorry I like music thats about staying true to yourself and your friends, staying positive, and staying out of bullshit like this. But I saw that kid calling hardcore kids elitists and many are. So I thought Id would try and piss some people off and I really I hope I did. Im done with this.

hahahha thats funny how you tried to cover it like you're fighting against the "elitist" comment. hahha no you better just be done. that was so stupid. "i was trying to piss some people off". seriously what the hell. next time when someone calls you out, just be like "fuck you, i said what i meant the first time", unless you realize you were wrong.

Did anyone see MxPX? They're playing over here soon. What kind of set did they play - mostly old/new songs? I'm not a fan of their last four or so records (except the newest one, which is pretty good), but the older stuff is definitely what helped me get into the music I listen to today.

well they pretty much played their new stuff. alot of it sounded like their old stuff. like from their most recent record.

seattle was the shiz. The Matches and Strike Anywhere rocked like no other. another killer band that you'll never here of...the skeptics, and not for now. they rock.

to me it sounded like a they had a bunch of emo bands, and just a few real punk bands. i bet Big D and the Kids Table was amazing though. They are supposed to be sooo good live.

dude i was mad cuz the matches werent playing on stage in detroit. They did a little acoustic performance in some tent that i missed cuz i couldnt find the tent. But ive seen em in concert before so its not a huge loss but i woulda liked to go to their acoustic performance.
