hey who is going to warp tour? and were? brooke and i are going to the gorge to see it... any one else going to be there at the gorge for it?

Jack Black: This is the last time Tenecious D will rock the house... after a Tenecious D dive I broke my spine and the heroin and crack are getting to me, so after the concert I'm going to jump off the Gorge. But don't worry we already have 3 albums recorded, 5 music videos, and 3 full movies recorded and in the can... the D will rock on with out us

its pretty crazy dude....definently check out the starting line and yellowcard if they come to ure shows....they kicked ass.....bring shitloads of money or find a way to steal drinks, thats what we did

Went to the one in Tahoe, yesterday night, definately fucking sick. NOFX was sick live, so was good charlotte. I was impressed with some of the smaller bands that I hadn't really heard much of. Oh yeah, Flogging Molly fucking rules

ill be in montreal again for the show, beacuse montreal kills it, but it doesnt look like itll be as good as the last years, except the damned will be there!!!, and dont drink before warped you will ruin the whoel show, beacuse ytou cant get food or drinks there really , at least in montreal, i drank water from the water fountain the whole day last year, no point in buying anything.

don't do sleep and get 8 hours of drugs
 
what's the gorge??? and anyone who can explain to me what's the deal w/montreal...like how to get to the place...lemme know. last year as i already posted my friends were way to drunk/hung over/coming down to go, but we also didn't quite know where it was. i'm hoping to be in mt hood at that time though.

the gorge is bout 45 mins south west of wenatchee its bout mid washington... it would take you a little while to get there and back from mt. hood

The gorge is an amphitheater in washington its the fucking coolest place for a show! I'm gonna be there and you can probably get free H20 from the 'drinking' area but it tastes nasty so if you can steal it thats best, don't give those corporate punks any of your $$ and if possible give them the finger. see ya there.

 
HAHAHA...someone actually said that the warped tour was a good punk show. Sorry when I think of punk it doesnt include kids dressed in abercrombie attempting to do what they considering moshing along with 20,000 other morons. As for corporate punk...most punk is now adays. You also are one of those who loves the clash and sex pistols...both of whom were major label bands and sold millions of albums and played in stadiums not clubs. Hypocracy rules...punk rock has been dead for 20 years.

nah man ok warped is shitty punk...but its still a good show compared to what some of the best scenes have...it sucks...but its sometimes the best you can do. i have a feeling vans is only headlining some bands just so they can keep to almost selling out and keeping the show in business...gotta give them that credit. every scene is hurting right now b/c of this stoopit corporate step-in, let me filter your voice to hell crap.

punk rock is not dead. i will admit, it is in a huge rut with the corporate tainting of good bands, the glorification of radio/tv friendly 'punk' bands who suck, etc.

But, there is a pretty good number of punk bands right now who play to the punks and skins. this is what punk needs.

See, in a pit the emo kids would get their asses kicked...the poser punks would be too worried about getting their greenday shirt torn. The skins would only dance to an Oi band and insult all the others. As for the hardcore kids, they wont go cause the bands all suck...but my vote woudl be for the hardcore kids. Go to a hardcore show and see a pit then say who you think would kick the most ass in a pit. IanS, would rule the day beyond all though since he is the most core kid i know...

go to a casualties show. punks and skins tear up everyone who is there to be cool. there was a riot when i saw them in la. my nose got broken by a boot, but i did a bit of damage on that kid. streetpunks and boot boys are the real fighters, who cares what pit is more violent

riveripper, i don't know man, that's not true. i know a lot of kids into emo and watch the green day comment...i don't know many emo kids who will even recognize green day as a band, even before they were popular. i'm a half ass emo kid and i ALWAYS am in the pit for no matter who it is that's on stage and i've been to a good +100 shows in my lifetime.

see, pits are generally a bunch of jock types who need to be assholes somebody to feel better about themselves. when its a bunch of punks and skins just trying to have fun and hear some good music, itws a lot less volatile. maybe more violent, but its constant instead of outbursts.

for instance: i was at a dropkick murphys show in chicago about 2 months ago. the pit was full of jackasses and a few people who were into the music. i saw a punk kid who was like 14 getting roughed up by these 3 guys who were like 20 in abercrombie with visors on and shit. they wouldnt have bothered me if they werent fucking with a kid. my friends saw the same thing and those guys got theirs on the spot. we almost got booted from the show, but the bouncer just walked away after the fight stopped

I thought SLC punk was going to be a bad movie for the same reasons that Line1260 thinks that it is a bad movie...but I don't think it was that bad...it's right on the button most of the time...I mock the whole scene thing though...why take a style of music so serious and make it your lifestyle...why not just enjoy it...?

 
i just think that trying to put a lifestyle that is really undefined and individual into a movie is a bad idea. sure, it shows what your average punks are like, but there are plenty that are nothing like the ones in the movie

I was not insulting the emo scene by my statements that their pits suck...the emo scene isnt about a pit or stage dive like hardcore or even oi is. GOod for you on going to a 100+ shows, impressive...if a single one of those includes. Creed, Dave Matthews, or Phish then all others are canceled out and you officially suck.

yeah i know you're all gonna disagree with me, but hearing 'punk rock princess' by something corporate was the best part! hehe.. but yeah nofx was the shit, a lot like their 'i heard they suck live' cd.. of course, super drunk.. it was kinda funny cause they played 'theme song from a nofx album' or whatever that song is called.. (the one they play at the end of the game)last and it was pretty funny cause fat el hefe kept playing weird songs on the accordian as everyone was leaving.. the song 'murder the government' they played was the best.. they changed it and the beginning was something like, 'i wanna see dick cheney have another heart attack....' great stuff. anyways, definetly go to the show if it is coming to your town.

im going to warped saturday, hell yeah! line1260, youre all hardcore and everything, but the problem is that you are too proud of yourself for it, jsut take it easy and enjoy the music and the lifestyle and dont insult anyone that disagrees with you. that is the common problem with most hardcore guys, they think they are the shit for being so underground, and underground is fine, but why be an asshole about it? but you were right about the less volatile pit thing, i saw knockout at the metro and they are all really cool guys, but there were all these fuckin drunk prep cocksuckers there that were trying to impress their girlfriends by moshing. they dindt know jack shit and ended up hurting a friend of mine so we beat the shit out of them. just cuz its not hardcore doesnt mean that emo or pop punk is bad, its just a different brand of the same great stuff, punk fuckin rules and it wont die, it just might change occasionally. sorry bout telling you all my life story

see, i dont see punk as a style of music really. for instance, listen to johnny cash, billy bragg, or woody guthrie. they are all fucking punks. it was before all the classification came along. i think punk is really more just standing up for whats right, even when everyone says its wrong. by the way, warped chicago sucked nuts. there were 3 good bands, the casualties, flogging molly, and the unseen. there were some bands who put on good shows, but i hated the music.
