Warning to all those posting in obscure Regional Threads

Two weeks? Wow you guys really play hardball... Know wonder the amount of spam, bullshit threads, etc. are multiplying on a yearly basis. Why don't you IP ban anyone who is spamming for life? You really want them back on the site?

And we should just get rid of post count, it would eliminate a lot of post whoring from kids who feel that having a high post count makes them an important member. And perhaps promote good, insightful posts. I mean I'm aware this would never happen, but hypothetically it could cure a lot of our problems: post-whoring, trolling, spamming, and obscure regionals.

yes, but often post count can determine whether a member is a troll or legit member. obviously there is not going to be too many kids trolling on the website with 5000+ posts.
 
That's true, maybe just put the member's join date where the post count would normally be. All hypothetically speaking of course.

Lol, IP ban's don't really work. Unless the person who gets IP banned has no intelligence whatsoever, or is just really lazy.
 
Clear line is posting that shit in places it clearly does not belong, for the mere sake of posting it.

Same thing goes for pictures too. If you post your for sale gear under big mountain or jumps, ect..., say goodbye to those photos. I'm not wasting my time moving them as I can delete them much faster.
 
What makes you think we're trying to kill the site? It's not us, trust me. Its (y)our fellow members. We're not asking you to sit upright in your chairs with your hands folded over one another on top of your desks. We're just asking you to not go out of your way to post pointless stuff where it honestly shouldn't be. You're getting upset when you don't need to be. Spamming is a downfall of our site and we're trying to clean it up and get control over it. I'm pretty sure that's our effort in trying to make this site better for you, no?
 
I would say over moderation is the downfall of the site, it's annoying that half the threads in my threads are deleted. Like I said before if it's not relevant it'll fall off into the archives. Whatever tho, fuck the mods cult never caught on.
 
haha you have to be kidding me... If you think this site is over moderated you have never been to any legit forum on the entire web. This site is crawling with so much bullshit that the mods let get because kids like you whine about stuff being deleted. The mods let you guys get away with A LOT, way too much IMO. A lot of the forums out there will delete any thread/post that isn't adding quality content, which on NS would be 75%+ of posts.

I frequent quite a few other forums for motorcycle and 4x4 and all of them are waaaayyyy more moderated than NS. Complete with posting guidelines and warning threads just like this one. We've got it pretty easy here as far as I'm concerned. Why the f would you spam up some regional forum anyway, wooohooooo +++++++++++++++++++post count, big deal.

He said its good to see mods finally get shit done, and he joined yesterday. Therefore, I made the assumption (we all know the old saying) that he had/has another account.

Not that hard of a concept, really. But fyi, I never was too good at standardized tests.
 
The rules are rules. They are not strict by any means either. Our strictest is super relaxed compared to many other forums.

If you don't like it, you have a few options:

-Follow the rules and realize that it will not negatively hurt your experience on here in one bit and will make NS easier to cruise

-Don't follow the rules and take a forced vacation

-Leave the site

First option sounds most attractive in my opinion.

And what point is that? That members who insult a mod get banned? It is one thing to bring up your point in a discussion in a reasonable manner...

In his defense, Static has always been pretty transparent in his opinion that NS should have zero rules, and be completely unmoderated.

Honestly, I wish that we could get along without having to delete shit. Unfortunately though, NS(or anywhere for that matter) and anarchy do not mix too well.
