Warm gloves????

alright so i need a pair of gloves/mittens that will keep my digits warm everyday i'm on the slope. Now i realize that there are probably hundreds of previous threads regarding gloves but instead of looking through every single thread i though i'd just be easier to make my own. So first off what are some of the better gloves out there today. Second what type of materials are better at retaining heat . and lastly how much is a good pair of gloves/mittens going to cost me. Any info is greatly appreciated (karma+), thanks.

if warmth is your main concern, definitely get mittens without any finger separators. go into a shop and try some on...its good to leave a little room for hand warmers as well.

ya mittens are definitely the warmest of anything. however they kinda suck with poles and using your hands for anything. im in the same boat, looking for warm gloves so i cant help but just thought i'd give my 2 cents on mittens vs gloves.

its also worth considering 3 fingered gloves (lobster gloves). pearl izumi, hestra, and grenade all make them. i'm sure there are other companies that make them as well. generally they're not as warm as regular mittens, but you have a little more dexterity with them.

Swany makes great gloves. I have used a pair of em for three seasons and they haven't disappointed. I used to wear Dakine gloves but the palms began to tear when i would do grabs from the contact of my ski edges on the gloves. Try to find gloves with a padded palm so you don't run the risk of cutting your hand in a grab or carrying your skis around.

POW Assault Plus. Damn warm 200g thinsulate with temperature range of -20 to 30 degrees. I'll just say I went with the Re-Stealths because the Assault Plus was too warm for my running hot nature.

Hestra Seth Morrison Pro, warmest glove EVER. I've heard Black Diamond is good too like Nomensteven said. and some Pow gloves seem to be good with 30k waterproofness and all but I dunno. A few Dakine models are good, but most of that stuff is crap.
