maybe?

This is the Embed code but dont know how to get it to work.
mobilerider.embedVideo(1057, 39498 ,'', 640, 360, 'osmf', {extras:'skin:clean,muteOn:,autoplay:1,autohide:1'});

It was a rail jam. NOT A BIG AIR. There was just a jump for some fun stuff to be thrown.

im pretty sure half of that video was jumping and flipping on and off of things. there was also a dub. kinda looked like a big air

I think your referring to "things" as rails. And yes there was a jump in there but 95% of the course was rails and other jib like features.

my point is there shouldnt be any jumps to begin with in a "war of rails". and people were jumping next to "things" and not even hitting them.

while most of the stunt objects involved rails, they were all pretty much jumps. gap jump onto a down rail. jump off an up rail. jump over a log.

still a fun contest, just maybe war of rails isn't the most fitting name.

holy shit that event looked awesome!!! was it really a war of rails? maybe not... but it still looked incredible

You're totally right. Next year I think Craig should fly you and and give you a whistle and an orange vest and you can be the offical Jib police at the event and make sure everyone is not doing any form of non jib tricks....

sick. thatd be a fun comp. im not quite sure why im getting ridiculed for thinking its wack there were jumps at a "war of rails". maybe im crazy

so damn sick. setup looked dope. mcrae, b-dog and spencer(?) looked like they killed it so hard. that was siiiick

Worky?

Who cares. That was huge and epic. Massive rails, big dubs, all good

People need to stop worrying about the name, and failing at embedding

oh i know what you mean. when thinking of style, gus chuckworthy is the first name that pops into my head.

although there were jumps, that comp was still the most insane rail jam i've ever seen.

That was very entertaining!

Just a little question to anyone that skis at bear mountain.

Is there many skiers that ride the park at bear?

yo i ride bear every week...there like a handful of skiers that ride the park thats it. alll boarders pretty much

At least it was bigger than the jump on the Playstreets course...

McRae's rodeo was boss for sure. Glad to see him finally gettin some love.

Kid, shut the fuck up, every single person in that edit is a better skier than you are, therefore you have no authority to speak. In addition to the fact that it has nothing to do with you, stop bitching about nothing,

hahhahah damn the children of newschoolers are gunna be so fucked when they grow up, i have lost any and all faith in you lil fuckers.

i heard people like giray didn't even get judged...tight comp

mad props to mcrae though!

Giray was judged. He made it to finals. Which in turn grants him on the list for Invited athletes next year. I must say Giray skied very well but so did all finalist as you can see in the videos. To place on the top you had to do everything perfect without any flaws. It was a very hard event to judge specially for finals. Everyones final scores were just points from each other. People will either hate or love the judging. There will never be a balance so all I can say it is what it is. I do know for sure that Mcrae won it with out a doubt! He killed it.

judging and name aside, it was a sick setup and some really dope shit went down. I hope next year is even cooler and I get the chance to spectate instead of being on a plane that day. good job craig!

you sound like such a condescending prick. its supposed to be a rail comp, or at least that's what i got out of it with a name like "war of rails." why is there a jump? why are there jumps with rails for takeoffs and landings? why cant there be a simple dfd handrail? or even a stairset rail at a comp called "war of rails?" why does skiing have to be so wack? i urge everyone to read the brobomb review of this contest. completely on point.

Thanks for contradicting your point about being a condescending prick. It saves me a lot of time from having to write a well thought-out response.

little picture= CC had sick comp with sick money to win

big picture= the ski industry doesnt support jib skiing, show me a skier that made a career of doing rails jams. as soon as the ski industry starts supporting real jibbers, we will have real rail jams.

until then we have skier slides, rodoes that were learned into foam, and 900's winning railjams

Obviously you weren't there.

There was a rail line.. dfd and a down rail right after.

It was the skiers choice to hit the jump. They did not have to hit it. They were not judged any differently if they didn't hit it. The course was split into 5 features. The rail line, The bonk, The middle rail setup, The wall ride, and the jump. The rider had a choice of not hitting one of the features as you only needed to hit 4 out of 5 features for a complete score.

Again this is not your normal rail jam you see all the time. It is more of a hybrid as I see it. Its like a slope style course all packed into on place. Except that its 90% jib features not 90% jumps. Either way you see it I feel this is something great as far as comps go. Its different from what everyone is use to. Its not the same old rail or jump setup. I'm tired of watching comps with the same setups over and over again. Its time to put some hot sauce on this bland burrito. I'm already thinking about the setup for next year and I can assure you it will be nothing short of amazing.

By the way if its any interest to anyone.

Top 3 did not win from their jumps. There scores were higher on the Jib features.

While the contest may not have been fit for some of NS's elite I thought what went down was entertaining and it looked like everyone there was killing it and having fun. I appreciate the effort, regardless if features and tricks from outside the official FIS rule book were in there.

rail jam was ill, need some more of them!
props to Coker and Big Bear for holdin it down!
stay tuned, new Armada edit from Big Bear dropping soon- Big Spenders ft. b-dog and spencer milbocker
peace

fair enough, i just think it should have been more rail oriented with a name like war of rails. (lets be real the cannon rail, the gap to down rail and bonk were not rail features, they were jump features with metal included). looked like a fun contest all in all but not what i'd consider a rail contest. just voicing my opinion as it seems like real rail riding is a part of our sport that gets neglected, unlike in snowboarding where people have made entire video careers without hitting a single jump.
