wasn't trying to hate i just think it would be dope to see a "sesh" style jam on 3 features or so, hell they could even do that type of rail jam as well as whatever crazy awesome ideas bear mtn has up their alley...its just my opinion that in a classic jam style, such as r2r, its usually fairly clear to see who is the most "technical" skier (keep in mind r2r definitely accts for style in their judging, brogan got second i think a few years back doing straight back swaps to switch and mellow 2's to switch). Instead with War Of Rails we get to see who the gnarliest/most creative skier is...and with 12 jibs (lots of features to film/cover) i think it will be harder for those of us who are not there to witness the event to enjoy all the gnarly shit that gets thrown and truly appreciate the event..

like i said wasnt trying to hate i think the event is epic and one of the best of the year, I just get the "what if" feeling when i see a group of riders that stacked, but won't necessarily see who the "best" skier is. instead we will see a winner decided essentially based on a setup that none of the riders have seen before, does it promote creativity and spontaneity? absolutely, but do i believe that we will truly see who the best rail rider is in this group through this comp? maybe, maybe not...we will honestly see.

in conclusion war of rails should continue having their awesome ass event, but also host a jam style rail jam on a few more basic features such as a big dfd, down rail, and one more creative feature, so that those of us that cannot witness the event in person have:

A: more dope edits to watch

B: know who was the best skier on not only an insane, unheard of, unseen setup but...

C: also who would win a more classic style rail jam with such an insane group of riders

D: nothing to argue or bicker about whatsoever...besides podium results, but if everyone was killin it who gives a fuck who wins

MAKE THIS HAPPEN

third feature could be a huge flat down tube with options of coming on to the down from multiple different lips on, like one halfway in between the flat tube and down tube and normal urbans on to both sides.....fuck im getting way too excited and ahead of myself just thinking about it

its going to be so hard to judge this with many similar tricks going down, cant wait to see what the course layout has to offer

I see what you're trying to get at, but how does have a huge gnarly set up NOT allow for the best technical skier to shine? If anything, it helps. Wallisch's cannon rail to wallride to front 450 out really stood out to me in the WOR edit from last year.

Like Crotchkiller said, putting some of the best rail skiers in the world on a standard rail jam set up would just result in a huckfest.

i disagree i think that putting the best rail skiers in the world on a standard rail jam set up shows people what pro's can do not only everyday cruising through the park, but after hiking for a few hours and needing to stomp all their tricks in a time in order to win the comp...and contrary to whatever popular belief there may or may not be i dont think r2r or any classic rail jam always turns into a huck fest...this year (and in previous years, the brogan/mcveigh podium) shows that style and creativity can be appreciated in jams and imo the podiums are usually fairly spot on...

is a more banger/epic trick more likely to be thrown down during WOR? absolutely, but in my honest opinion i dont believe that the average newschool park skier (like i consider myself) will appreciate wallischs cannon wallride to front 450 out as much as watching lj absolutely stomp every single hit on features that almost every park in the world has...it stokes me out watching what the "pros" like to do and what they consider to be their best comp "tricks" that they want to do on each feature..classic rail jams imo allow for the spectator to really get a view of how each skier in the comp skis not only on a daily basis, but when they are trying to do their "hardest" and "best" tricks to leave a good enough overall impression on the judges to win the comp...

war of rails is dope as fuck...im not trying to deny that, but like i said its my preference (and whether im in the minority with this opinion or not i dont know) to watch LJ stomping the fuck out of any/every pretzel combination and left/right spin/flip on and off every feature possible or mcveigh surface swapping and pressing everything in sight, all while hiking their asses off and feeding off one anothers stoke..to me its easier to appreciate and relate too and honestly every single r2r i see a trick or new rider who is absolutely killing it with either their own unique style or different tricks. it truly shows the diversity in rail skiing and imo represents "rail skiing" the best...once again war of rails is the bomb diggity and i cant wait to see some footy from it regardless, with that being said i think it would be awesome to see them do both an insane jam and a classic jam style, but if thats too out there for everyone then idk ill still be stoked on the comp but ill still think "what if"?.....

What if? -then it would be the same as every other rail comp.

-then the lineup wouldn't be stacked like it is now. If you hadn't noticed, not to many big pros compete on standard rail jams (this isn't because the availability to do so isn't there).

-then this lineup of pros would have just gone to R2R in the first place(many people crossed the country to compete in that).

-then it wouldn't be the sickest rail comp out there

-then your point would be validated. But it won't be, cause its a STUPID FCKING IDEA

P.S. I really don't even know why Im responding after you stated you couldn't appreciate the level of radness in the cannon to wallride to 450.

Leigh is going to tail press everything and it will be the most beautiful thing i will ever witness

i suggested that they should have both types of comps actually! thats the idea im really going for ha, besides rails to riches there is not another rail jam that exists that has as "stacked" of a lineup as WOR does. i dont understand the hosility in your post i said that i support WOR multiple times, just trying to maybe see some of da athletes throw down in a classic jam too...i think i validated my points multiple times and based off of your reading comprehension skills i think your being kinda fuckin stupid

and to further respond, i said that i could appreciate watching someone like LJ destroy a rail jam setup all night in a limited period of time MORE than watching tom's banger shot...if u honestly thought i wouldnt appreciate toms insanity then ur a moron...

no, i want to se my favorite pros ride normal park features and whatever gnarly WOR setup the dudes at bear have planned...and dont hate on the east coast (especially VT), we have some of the best parks and terrain in the world...being completely serious

pros crushing a regular rail jam = R2Rpros crushing insane features = WOR

also , alot of pros get drawn into WOR because of the awesome and creative set up. It wouldnt draw the same level of riders with a standard setup

really? Cmon man, get your head out of your ass and enjoy something different for once. Your "brilliant" idea is to make a creative rail comp into a standard one. Oh sorry, I mean add it. There are hundreds of standard comps with your kink and down rail setup, but only 1 WOR. Yet, you want to make it into the same as every other comp just so you can jerk it to LJ spinning on and off rails that you might actually have the balls to hit. And stop saying how you know WOR is so awesome and you appreciate it. If you really thought it was so awesome you wouldn't have come up with this dumb idea. The only reason you are saying WOR as it stands now is any good, is because you realize how dumb your idea is and you dont want to sound like a total moron. However, even though you realize this, you just can't help yourself to the thought of getting to watch wallisch and LJ hit a DFD and you being able to reach total orgasm for the whole jam thinking about the K-Fed you would do on the set up. So alas, you came up with this stupid idea to change a one of kind comp into "cookie cutter" jam. You sir, deserve the Nobel peace prize for such an original and well thought out idea.

Also, next time you want to call someone out on their reading comprehension skill maybe you should do it in a grammatically correct sentence. i might be able to have much more better understanding, of what your're write'ing.

Only? I have a month to think about it I will let you know haha. If I can get a good group of people together.

there is a 30g purse ALL to skiers, you can't win 10g's for hitting an average park double kink. needs more risk and higher consequences for fucking up. Thats the point of this comp... FILM oriented features aka what you would see in an end of the year park shoot, only in a comp. Last year there was a 30ft up rail with a 20ft gap to reverse tranny wall. if there is anything ballsier and techy-er than that in a current comp, name it.

WOW if everyone seriously thinks that my idea sucks that bad then fuck man the ski community is so damn narrowminded and isnt ever going to expand and move passed the limitations that we constantly put on ourselves..if adding a seshin style rail jam to any of the 3/10 features that craig was talking about would IMHO be an awesome way to get more shots but also promote the comp more...everyone always asks for a game of skate this person against this person...WOR is the most stacked lineup in the country, if the riders, maybe, would express interest in doing both styles of jams then i bet they could both happen...however you calling my idea dumb gets us nowhere. its just a way for you to boost ur internet ego while further decreasing your actual ego and hurting your general psyche...the ski industry and community is supposed to invite innovativeish ideas like this one not automatically reject them down...

ya wanna know what i think happened, i came up with those okay idea that i obviously cannot make happen by myself. you, because i have a different opinion than you, want to immediately dismiss my idea as stupid so that you will feel superior to me or that your opinion or perspective matters more than mine, however it doesn't and anyone with a brain will see how large of an ass ur being..if u dont lke my idea thats fine ill still take the noble peace prize u offered me thanks its chill in my lviing room, but dont just shoot it down for the sake of being in a bad mood and wanting to feel better about urself...

thedawg out...

and one more thing i think WOR is really dope as it stands now, it just has such potential cause of the riding list i think it would be sweet to turn it into potentialy two seperate jams in one comp!!!

No if everyone thinks your idea sucks that bad than it most likely does...

And there are already simple "seshin" style rail jams all over the fucking country. WOR is something completely different and fresh from every other comp.

Yes, because it is so hard to move out west. Do you know how retardedly easy it is to move to a mountain town and get a job that allows you to ski almost every day?
