Want to see a guy backflip a carbon road racing bike?

4:35 for the backflip.

This is just really the equivalent of any pro skier doing a backflip with 240CM Downhill WC Race stock skis. Not the best gear for it, but it can be done.
 
oh my those nose butters... and on the last backflip, he caught the tranny perfectly. i guess i can't use my bike is bad as an excuse anymore
 
Not just some guy, tis Martyn Ashton, trials bike leg end. Someone who has been pushing the sport on for bout 20 years. He was prolly in MBUK every month when i was buying it as a kid.

Still, he does do those gay demo's where he talks on a mic while doing tricks.....................
 
My thoughts exactly. Pretty neat video, but it's a shame that he was essentially destroying that bike when he could have done the same tricks on a trials bike.
 
what? What the fuck? How was that shit a shame, that's probably the coolest that a bike like that will ever see. Not that I know dick about bikes.

Imagine taking brand new DPS pow skis and then thrashing them over rocks and on rails. Sure, at first you'd think, "wow, that's different and kind of cool," but then you'd be like, "Oh, fuck, he's ruining those skis."
 
This. I mean props for being able to do that stuff on a road bike, but I was cringing the whole time. Every drop over 6 inches I was expecting him to do damage to a road bike that I will never be able to afford haha.
 
pretty standard trials tricks, but amazing on those skinny tires. He has no room for error with that little grip!

also i dont even know how he gripped those steel poles at 3:15 with road bike tires. My road bike slips out on dry asphalt just from pedaling.

and finally. a backflip would fucking wreck those tiny carbon spokes and rims. i wonder if he's already gone through a set of rims yet?
 
Blown out of the water. Seriously some of those spots he was in would be scary on a regular trial bike! Best video I've seen in awhile of any kind.
