Want to make a movie next year

Alright, this past year i had a canon zr85. I know, really shitty. But i'm looking to upgrade where the quality will look decent on a pretty big tv. I'm looking to spend under 600 bucks but could go alittle over. Tell me the experiences you've had with them. What do you guys think of the PV-GS180? Let me know guys. Thanks

I have the gs180 and it works perfectly! The best is to always ajust your white balance to have the best image possible. The zoom is pretty good (the mic zooms too) and you also have a cinema mode (really good for wide tvs). I really like my gs180, I think it's a good choice.

^ yea, the panasonic gs series are really the best quality/price in for 3DCC. The GS180 is pretty good like I said earlier.

for the GS series. WHat does the number stand for. Will the gs150 shoot the same shot as the 500? what's the diff?

and wats the deal with optical zoom? on the gs180 its only 10x optical...is it really worth it to get more

it depends... like in their new line of cameras there is the gs180, the gs300 and the gs500. Bigger the number is, the camera will have more options/better specs, the more it will cost. Check this site: http://www.camcorderinfo.com/ it should help you out a little bit.

Seriously, a 10x optical is more than enough for what I do! Of course if you want to film backcountry and be like 500 meters away from the skier, you should have a bigger zoom. But for park filming 10x is enough.

it's always good to have one, but if you make a handle for your cam, it's all good. Film with a tripod when no need for moving and film with a handle while moving.

yo panasonic makes some really good shit, i got a 3ccd one about a year ago and it kicks ass, cant even tell the difference sometimes, especially on snow, if u are filming though, make sure it stays realllly steady cause shaky video=shit
