Want to help out some repressed newschoolers?

Hey everyone, us Crystal skiiers are wondering if you guys could help us out. We believe if we flood crystal with e-mails and letters, they will realize there is enough of a market to put in a park, or atleast research the possibility. They are willing to spend the money, supposedly they spent half a million on that damn superpipe they dug in.

So just do us a favor, go here: http://www.crystalmt.com/contactus/index.asp then click on ''Click here to ask questions'' for the main office, or guest services. Just let them know you would like to see Crystal have a terrain park for the 05-06 ski season.

yeah help us out it only takes a few minutes, even if you dont like crystal, or have never even been there it would only be a good thing for all of us really. make them realize that a park is important, i dont think they realize that right now

It will never happen. And if it does it will be the worst thing ever. Just go ski the backcountry there and ski stevens or snoqualmie for a park.

how could it be a bad thing? Go out in the backcountry when its open then later in the day hit a couple jumps. It hasnt been a bad thing at any other mountain has it?

This has been tried so many times. I would say write an ACTUAL letter, not email. You need to convince them it would be profitable for them. As it is, they probably aren't hurting for money, and making a terrain park only costs more money, so if they don't need it, why do it? Like the other guy said, all the other mountains have parks, so the people that want it can go there.

Don't think I'm against it. I think it would be kick ass if Crystal had a park, they have TONS of great places for it all over the mountain. But I really don't think flooding them with emails is going to convince them of anything.

Oddly enough, I went on a random drive yesterday for the hell of it, and I ended up at Crystal!!! Kinda wish I brought my skis and a rail, there was quite a bit of snow up there! Or a sled or something! It was pretty!

And everything else closed and I was making shoes.
 
crystal is one of those mountains that doesnt descriminate against snowboarders, but they dont want them...they will never put in a park because they think the snowboarders will take over.

haha, nice, 410 is a nice drive, there gonna open up the rest of it pretty soon, i hear its a reallly nice drive after crystal.

But by sending them messages that you would come to crystal if they had a park, and they get 1000 messages... thats potentially $40,000 they're not making simply because they dont want to take the time out of the day to shape a park... and they have the resources, they have about 7 snowcats/groomers that just sit in the parking lot during the day.

 
oh yeah, and goin up to snoqualmie/stevens... from Federal Way thats not a bad idea, its gonna be 70 miles either way... but the further south you go, the more of a burdon it is to get up north, enough so that its not even worth it.

 
ok you guys need to look into this more and understand why crystal dosen't have a park. its not cuz they don't like teens or snowboarders or any of that junk its cuz their insurance dosen't cover it. in fact it dosen't cover any man made features at all. Crystal is owned by a single person not a corporation so he isn't able to get the insurance he needs to have a park and be able to still make money. so you e-mails are worthless as are letters

All you got to do from Federal Way is pop on highway 18, and you're in North Bend in no time.

I got on 18 Saturday thinking I was heading south, but noooo I was heading north. After driving for like 2 hours from my house, all of the sudden I see a sign that says "I-90 7 miles". It would've taken me 30 minutes from my house if I went straight there. So we turned around and drove to Crystal, planning on going to Sunrise, but like you said 410 is still closed.

yeah from my house it takes a little bit over an hour to get to snoqualmie, and maybe about 1:20 to get to crystal... but it would be nice to have nice terrain/bc and a park, without driving all the way stevens... of course, i've never been to alpental

 
Alpental is similar to stevens, although stevens does have more terrain. but i like alpental better of course, haha.

see my problem is if i buy a pass for one mountain i cant afford to buy any day passes at any other mountain cause im too poor
