i stumbled across this on tgr http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179060 i ordered 40, this answers every problem i have really with alpine skis. i can mount my skis with the inserts, for fks or dukes, that way when i'm strictly inbounds or park i'll ride my fks, slack country/touring i'll use my dukes, uses machine screws instead of binding screws, won't strip out on you you can switch bindings as often as you want. so you could really own one pair of bindings and as many skis as you want. the schizo is sick but you can use this for any ski, or any bindings. can't wait for the second order to fill so i get mine.

wait you said you would use these and swap between fks and dukes? what kind of ski are you gonna swap bindings on? isnt the purpose to swap one pair of binders onto multiple skis but you said you would interchange bindings. im a little confused

sorry if that was not clear.

i am going to put the inserts in my moment rockers, rossi s3's, and surface watchlifes i will put inserts in all 3 pairs for FKS.

i will then mount the inserts for dukes into the S3 and the Watchlifes aswell.

moral of the story. with one pair of fks and one pair of dukes i can ride my rockers with the fks, or switch them off to my s3's or watchlifes. when i am slack country/backcounrty depending on the day/tour/type of skiing i can put my dukes on ether the watch life or the s3's.

to start i am going to install my first batch on my watch lifes and s3's, now that i calculate i have to order 12 more

for people that don't tour, they can buy 1 high quality bomber binding, and interchange it between skis in there quiver, only having to own 1 pair of bindings for a plethyra of skis.

you drill the skis for both bindings, the inserts have closed bottoms so water can't penetrate the core of the ski by leaving them open when you have the other set of bindings on. i am going to install them with a 12 hour epoxy.

i think it should be bomber.

my threads.

i've thought about doing this for the last two years but couldn't find good inserts, and wasn't sure it would hold up post production. since snowboard inserts are done during production, they're much more structurally sound. let me know how they take a beating, if i dont have to buy another pair of bindings, i'd be giddy.

you use machine threaded bolts, the inside of the insert is the same thread as the bolt, i'll use lock tight blue probably to make sure they don't shake loose. if you check out the link at the top they're will be some results soon i'm sure with some guys on tgr. i'm in the second batch for the inserts so it might be some time. i'm going to order my bolts with allen key tops, to avoid stripping from repeated mountings. +k for fixing the picture links.
