Want to go skiing/ need an excuse

Alright so theres a rail jam at stowe this weekend, but I work weekends.... in canada. I need an excuse to tell my boss so that I can have the weekend off to go skiing. This is where my favorite website comes in.. I need you newschoolers to give me some suggestions on excuses or reasons thet I could tell my boss to miss work and go ski... alright now I have to go work. + k for legit answers... mega K for the winning answer

you have a cousins/sisters/old friends wedding to go to in vermont.. say you're best man for added effectiveness
 
Tell him your mom/dad/grandparent has got some big surgery this weekend and they really need you to be there for moral support/drive them there cause your other family members are going away for a wedding somewhere else.
 
I always used to use the "family emergency" card. Employers normally don't give a fuck if its something you're doing out of choice, which is why I'd say something like:

a) Your aunt just got in a car accident and is in the ER

b) Grammy just had a heart attack

c) You found your biological mother in Vermont
 
I'm not sure how old you are, but how about a college visit? I can't see an employer not giving you the day off to go check out a prospective school.

2) tell them its a private matter than you don't feel like sharing but needs to be taken care of...in Vermont

i think a random relative's wedding is the best bet, as long as your employer doesnt know any of your family members wellotherwise the college thing was good, cause your boss cant say you arent allowed to have a good education or whatever
 
a family event, ie birthday party for grandparrents, or a grad party.

Im planning on telling my boss im going skiing and that he can fuck himself, but i wouldnt recomend that one
 
your grandma that raised you from birth is dieing of cancer and you want to spend time because this might be her last weekend of life.

Last summer I told my supervisor that my sister is getting married in Oregon and I wouldn't be able to work a certain weekend. He then asked what city and I said "Eugene" but I was really going down to Timberline to shread and see the GF. You just gotta have some bullshit ready that sounds legit.
 
alright there are some good ones in here but not much that I can use.... im thinking maybe the one about my spancers needing me there, but I think she knows im not quite sponsored... I could tell her that they are not sure about sponsoring me and If I go there and do good they will put me on the team. she knows skiing is my life so this might pass
 
true but also If I play the sick for two days card shes going to call my house for sure and I wont be there
 
dont you have any wedding photos or something? if not you could always poach a wedding haha then show them to her
