Want to buy hockey skates.

So I want to buy my first pair of hockey skates but the lady at the shop had no clue about anything. I was looking at the Nike Bauer Supreme 30. They seem like a good first pair, I cant find any reviews on them. Does anyone have any advice on if these are a good skate or not. It would be much appreciated and karma goes out to good advice.

nike makes great skates, and they are usually more affordable than other brands too. i currently have bauer vapor x 50's. they are a little on the expensive side but are super comfortable and all around a great skate.

Nike's supreme line is very good and you should also look into nike bauer's last year vapor line especially the XVI or i also recommend this years nike bauer x:15 for first year skates

Personnaly, I wouldnt recommand nike, the pair I owned really wasn't my type of skate.... On the other hand, the best skates I ever owned were CCM supertack 952 (might be pricy for a first pair)... but I really recommand looking into the ccm tack line.

if possible for your first pair of skates by second hand, as they will already be partially broken in, and new skates are expensive. If you can't i'd recommend the reebok 5k pump, its what i have and they feel really good, and they are not too expensive.

that sucks dude. those are super nice skates & they aren't exactly cheap. I'd kill your douchebag ex roommate if I were you and sell his body to science in order to fund your new skates. Clearly that is a fair solution.

grafs are really comfortable but expensive and not the best beginner skate. Take into consideration your foot width. Different brands have different fit. I used CCMs my whole life because they fit my wide foot a little better. Most of my friends use either Nike Bauer Vapors or supremes, but I always found these to be too tight for me. I would try on a few from different brands and see how they feel. Also try to buy a pair that can be heat molded to your foot. It will help with the break in process. (I don't know if they all are able to do that now it has been a while since i bought skates)

its kinda like buying ski boots you gotta go with what fits and feels right

I loved my Grafs and Vapor XXXs but had some ankle pain in Reeboks so you gotta try a whole bunch on to find what's good for you

what this guy said.

they're like ski boots, man. go and try on all of the skates in your price range and buy what fits and feels best, regardless of brand.

i have nike bauer 190s that i will sell, they are probably 1 of the top 5 skates on the market last year when i bought them. i dont play anymore (no time for skiing) but i used to know everything about that kind of stuff.
