I'm not sure if this goes in SG or here so I just put it here anyways

So awhile ago I posted on here about an app I was working on called PowHunter that did Ski Area weather, lift status, ski maps, and run information. I got a little feedback we worked on it some more and today it was released. Its a fucking sick app if you wanna check it out you can here -> http://bit.ly/1VzU0cn

But this is where I need you,

One of our core features is Run Recommendations. You can rate runs and we do some math and shit and then we can recommend runs to you that you might like hopefully so you don't look like a fucking gaper on vacation skiing shitty runs. In order to do this, we need a little bit of crowd sourced information in addition to the information that we already have.

Here is my proposal: If any of you here on NS want to help me out and make $5 at the same time, I will pay you to submit information about runs at your resort. If you interested do the following

1. Download my app http://bit.ly/1VzU0cn

2. Sign up for an account

3. Find your resort, and navigate to the runs page

4. Click on a run, scroll down to the bottom and click the prompt to add information

5. Do this 20 times -- this will take you like 5 minutes

6. PM your PowHunter Username, and your paypal email

7. get your money

Anyone who does this is really helping me out, and I appreciate if you guys could help me with this one

Just so I don't go broke, I'm gonna pay the first 40 people who do this, but if you want send in more information I'll owe you one for life

TL;DR

Download my app and tell me some stuff about runs at your home mountain and I'll give you $5

Also please remember this is our first released version. There are definitely some issues that exist. If you find any big ones, or if you want to request features, request new resorts for us to add, or overall just have any comments, feel free to PM me or email us at powhunterapp@gmail.com.
 
Pretty intuitive app, the design is really nice. But how do I rate a run? Do I physically have to ski the run first with the app on?

You only can rate runs that we have ALL of the information for. If you know about that run, and you click that yellow triangle with the ! in it, you can add information to that run, then you can rate it. We can't recommend you runs without that information, so rating it wouldn't do anything. Thats why we require the information to be added first. Glad you like the app! Let me know if you have any other questions.
 
I would, but I don't know the names of any of the runs at my resort and just spend 90% of the time lapping one chair through the park

Hey if you download our app you can take a look at all those runs and find which ones you like without ever leaving the park!

Plus we do lift status too so you can check if the park chair is fucked and if its even worth it to go up

i love the idea with the app and would love to help, but i'm currently in Italy using the italian app store. do you have any idea if you can put the app on the global store or something else. Also, i could help get is started in Italy by going around and suggesting it to resorts and the italian pow community.

Hit me up if you want help to get this started in Italy.

I just modified the country restrictions to allow for download from Italy. Two of our datasources are US only, which is really restricting, so we are working really hard to get around them as soon as possible. When that happens, our global expansion should be pretty rapid, with over 50 additions from France, Switzerland, Canada, and Italy coming within 1 week of this change.

I mean as a free app without ads relying heavily on servers that is constantly losing money, I'm not really sure if you want that stake right now

Oh gotcha I was confused because Breck is glitchy. It doesn't have any runs listed when I click on it. Then I clicked on Keystone and Abasin and it makes sense now

Shoot thanks for letting me know! I'll get on that and see if we can get some runs in there ASAP. Also, you can add runs yourself if you'd like. You can ski and record runs from the side bar under "record runs"

I was able to download the app but i don't seem to be able to create an account due to my Italian sim card and the app not recognizing it as a phone number. If there is any way you could fix this or if it's easier i'd PM you my details and you could make an account for me or something like that.

I think it'd be easier to PM me. Just send me the information it asks for in the form and I'll go ahead and create an account for you. Im pretty sure we hard coded a 10 digit max into that phone number field and thats probably whats messing it up
