I'm heading to Wanaka for two weeks in september and wanted to know what it is like.

What sort of terrain/park/big mountain is there?

What sort of temperatures can i expect?

And most importantly, will i see any of the Wells family?

September = spring skiing, probably going to be quite warm, round 5-10 degrees most days. Can get colder though but wont get below -5. But seasons are temperamental. Probably wont see any of the wells's, they will be off doing comps somewhere. Though there is a big one round then so maybe. Doubt you will see jossi though. Doesnt really compete the local stuff anymore.

as said previously itll be spring and warm, if you ski at cardies or snowpark as i suggest you do chances are you'll see atleast some level of pro even if its not the wells brothers, chances are youll see them too though if you ski cardies

Did a season there last year. Pretty rubbish snow whole year through, very small amount of terrain, usually a pretty decent park at Cardrona and Snow Park is obviously sick, didn't make it up to Treble cone but apparently the terrain is better there. Some seriously cold days, only had like one or two t-shirt days throughout the whole season though.

Usually there are shit loads of pro's there, although it might have just been for the Revolver world premiere (claim). But yeh the Wells bro's, Dumont, Wallisch, AJ, were all there and up at Cardrona/Snow Park a lot.

Also Wanaka itself is fucking amazing, easily the most beautiful place in the world I've ever been to. As well as the nicest people I've ever met, and just such an awesome chilled out atmosphere around town.

Check out Red Star for the best fucking burgers on the planet.

Didn't get to ski there because I was there in the summer (NZ summer), but saw SnowPark, Cardona and some other places - made me really want to ski.
More generally, NZ is the most beautiful place I have ever been to. Wanaka is absolutely stunning. There isn't that much to do in the town itself, I recommend heading to Queenstown (less than two hours) and there is a ton to do.
In Queenstown go to FergBurger - sooo incredibly good. Biggest and best burgers of all time.
If you can, get into the Fiorlands. Absolutely, mindblowingly stunning
