Wallish vs T-heed... discuss

great thread...i'm at a loss of words, Heed and Wallisch are originators for sure. Heed was before his time.

t-heed threw a weak ass 7 in wicked, and had rail skills ahead of his time, for sure. meanwhile tanner in TBC was throwing SWITCH CORK 900's over chads gap. dont compare the two, especially since tanners part was filmed a full 2 years ahead of wicked. either way, none of what i said makes either skier less impressive than they were then/are now.

was this thread seriously bumped from last spring? did that just happen?

it's not even a debate. tom, all fucking day.

their both killing it.. going to have to give it to wallisch tho... hes just so well-known nowadays.. hes the person to talk about.. and its not for no reason

I'd rather watch Heed...

But who da fuck cares, this is a shit topic... heed got the style, wallisch got the tech. To me style is more important. And plus that, Heed got some soul in it... his own style, shady as hell, and it's real real real nice! Great thing about Heed is that he was so a head of his time. To me he's a legend...

im just retardedly sick of how close minded people are when judging skiers abilities. saying wallisch isnt a good skier cause he backslapped a BC drop is horseshit, the kid is from PA, cant be expected to slay utah BC he first season out of roundtop. on the same hand, its not cool to say heed isnt as good becuase his edit from 2004 only has one jump in it. ive witnessed heed slaying jumps since then, just as stylish as timothy Wigwam, and it looks way easy for him, like hes asleep doing a sw rightside cork 5 blunt. are we also going to say bode miller or seth morrison arent as good skiers as others cause they cant pretzle street rails? is tj schiller not as good cause he cant qualify for olympic GS? is tanner hall not as good cause he cant dinner roll in moguls (actually he prolly can) its impossible for anyone to say heed isnt as good a Tyrone the Walruss becuase not too many people really know how good heed is nowadays, and thats how its going to stay. its sad because he coulda been huge if he wanted to, but he doesnt, and hes doing just what he wants to do now, and isnt that what we all should do?

Tom Wallisch's voice annoys the fuck outa me. T-Heeds style was a lot better imo. Yea, technicality is cool but really? Next thing you know kids will be seeing how fast they can 9 off a box.

Both are good skiers just different kinds I guess.

T-Heed is up there with my favorites though. Pollard and Casabon too. Colby West is also a dude who doesn't get a lot of credit.

$$$Wallisch$$$$ is a more refined skier all around. More modern and fluid style, T heed looked like he forced alot of his shit, wallisch just makes everything look effortless. T heed also had the somewhat steezy yet generic primitive 2004 style except with more steeze than anyone else.

ok: watch tom's segment in turbo, and then watch heed's segment in wicked (if you can even make yourself watch and entire seg of plain rail slides with maybe one or two spins off)

Umm yeah t heed is sick at rails...but is this even a question? Wallisch hands down...oh and for the record, I've met and skied with both of them more than once.

If you have to ask this question, something is wrong. Wallisch trumps Heed, without question. I mean....

HE'S FUCKING TOM WALLISCH

Watch this until T-Wall's part at 3:42 until the end, you'll understand.

4 years difference....

1 or 2 spins off? some tricks i can name off the top of my head (Im a Wicked fanatic) pretzels in '04? sw270 450 off, sw 270 both ways, sw 2 blind sw up both ways, 2 on 2 out, 2 out of the Lake Roponda DFD (downy went straight in straight out), steezed out the 4 kink, buttering on to rails 4 ways, sw 2 pretz 2, step on 2 out FDF, 1 MPH FDF

maybe he is seen to have had way more idea on style then technicallity than people do now, but back then what he was doing WAS the most technical shit of its time. If you have seen him ski in the past year or two you know theres more to him than steezed rail slides
