Walking how I ski

It’s been pointed out to me by countless people over the years that I walk weird, and I attribute that to skiing. Growing up skiing I always subconsciously felt I had to hold my hands straight down beside me, mainly just because I hated people who skied with flailing arms. Other people and myself have noticed that when I walk my knees are overly bent (stance similar to skiing) and my arms are glued to my sides. Does anyone else experience this or am I just weird.

i also have my knees bent like if i was skiing most of the time along with my feet pretty close together and always parallel

Hahah yup, fucks with my skateboarding too, I can’t make myself land with my legs apart on the board since I’m so accustomed to landing with my feet glued.

We were taking grad photos for my sister and I climbed on a hand rail to see how itd feel to slide... everyone just looked at me, we are all guilty sometimes

Shoe skiing is a lost art. I love climbing up steep rocks and shoe skiing down. Closest I've been to death was hiking down a mountain and running into a nice gravel covered dirt patch, perfect for ripping some shoe skiing turns except it was a sharp ass left turn and like a 400 foot drop on the other side. Had to bust some impromptu break dance moves to wiggle myself out of that pickle. Hands all bloody and shit.

Guilty. My ex thought I was always standing like I was ready to be attacked or something. Then she saw me skiing and put it together. Probably the tenth person over the years to notice

Also love me a big wet or icy patch on asphalt. Get a running start and let er rip. I would cut through a field on my walk to school and in the winter there was a spot with like 80 feet of ice. Felt so good to rip across.

Monoskiing has really been a detriment in my life, I can't even walk, my feet just stay plastered together cause that's what I'm used to. It's gotten to the point where I have to take government checks 90% of which go towards ski passes and lodge food. Its getting really bad and this is a cry for help, if someone wants to Venmo me like maybe 10 bucks man I just wanna buy a pack of cigs to make my miserable life end faster.

You know when you're standing around in your ski boots with skis on you have that bent knee stance resting your shins on the front of your boots?

I caught myself standing like that at work today.

ive been told my torso stays still and only my hips and legs move when i walk and i was pretty stoked. fucking great form i guess

Yooo hahah I thought I was the only one.

Not so much when I'm walking, but if I'm standing still (like waiting in line or something) I have to keep my feet together because I feel weird having my legs apart. Tbh it was sorta conscious at first, but now it's just like my normal position
