Walking Dead Season 3 Thread

the only thing i don't understand is WHERE ARE THE BONES??? i assumed that the fat lethargic zombie at her remains, but there should still be skeletal remains....yet they aren't there.....so I'm interested to see what they do about that....

and i'm almost caught up to the show in the comics...and they definitely differ quite a bit. i mean, a lot of stuff is similar, but a lot is pretty different, too. i know no comic discussion, so I'll leave it at that.

Just from another phone inside the prison, shes probably lost and scared, typical Carol. and I called this shit back on page 12 /claim

No way is it carol calling I'm puttin money on it being laurie/rick's imagination

He is obviously freakin out and pretty banged up emotionally especially when you consider how laurie and ricks relationship was going through the shitter in the last couple of months then she just goes and dies so he doesnt even get to say goodbye or make amends. He's probably feeling guilty about not being there to protect her - when the zombies were swarming two episodes ago the only thing he was screaming was her name as he ran back to the prison. This is either gonna save rick or push him over the edge. Her phone call will say something like I love you blah blah its not your fault or she'll just be a huge bitch and say you left me for dead then he'll just go insane.

The phone call is going to bring Rick back. It's going to be someone in need and hes gonna go into Ricktatorship mode and decide that he will save this person to avenge the death of Lori. He will pull himself together and save who ever is on the other line and bring back the Ricktatorship.

If you guys had watched the preview for next week's you would've seen that Rick says into the phone "Laurie died here", so obviously he's not talking TO an imaginary Laurie. I'm going with it's someone else in the group.

Wasn't sure if it was a slip up, but Greg N. on the talking dead made it seem like Carol was dead? forgot what was exactly said though.

Unless the conversation goes like this...

Phone: "Hi Rick, it's Laurie"

Rick: "Laurie died here"

obviously they didnt show the entire conversation so Rick's line could have been something like "Impossible, Laurie died here" or "No way I don't believe it, Laurie died here"

Doesn't make sense for the phone call to be some random ass person unless telemarketers are still cold calling people during the zombie apocalypse - which I wouldnt put past those annoying assholes and so I guess I wont be surprised if the voice on the other end asks rick if he's satisfied with his long distance carrier

but seriously, the phone call is from grief stricken rick on the verge on mental breakdown in the voice of laurie

on the talking dead online episode they said that the script writer had a friend who would make tic marks like that while they were doing other things, so they use that to kind of show that the governor is nervous, if you will, kind of got a crazy side.

I was talking to a girl in one of my classes who had read the graphic novels. I think she said something along the lines of "...and then he shoots himself." I can't be totally sure that's what she said (lol), it was a rough class. This was also in the graphic novel, and from what I understand the show has not followed them extremely closely.

I'm actually considering this... Like it would be super corny but holy shit would it be awesome!

If you don't know who we're talking about... the african american family from season 1

we've been over this. they would need to get rid of the existing AA characters before they could bring in two more.

remember though the writer said at the end of season 2 on the talking dead that 1 of those 3, mearl and the father and son from season 1 would come back....and mearl was the one to come back soo...

This. I predict we will see just duane in a future season with some badass story of how his dad sacrificed himself for him or something

ITT: people who dont watch Talking dead after,

DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS POINT IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SLIGHTL SPOILED

k.

theres some outlandish shit being skepticised in here...

-Glenn was digging one grave. that grave was meant for carol. he had the prisoners dig two more as a tribute to t-dogg and lori. darryl puts a cherokee rose on the one FULL grave. its carols.

-t-dogg eaten beyond burial.

-rick picks the bullet that went into loris head off the concrete. carl did shoot her. the bloated zombie was supposed to be shown with hair in its hands and coming out of its mouth. it was overly bloated and couldnt move because it ate ALL of lori.

if you read comics you know who is phone.

They said that the zombie had dragged her remains around the corner. The zombie is sitting along a wall which ends a few feet to his right. I'm almost positive you can even see the blood from dragging disappear around the corner also.

I totally missed this, I delete anything someone says about the comic, drives me up the wall.

I swear I'm gonna get so mad I drop a banhammer for spoiling my fave tv show hahaha.

It absolutely did. It said who was on the phone per the comic. There is no comic talk in this thread. I'm surprised no one else picked up on it.

i did, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the way the show is going to take it. for instance, in the comics, carl kills shane long before they get to the farm. in the show it's obviously rick. in the comic, andrea and dale are fucking...and they obviously don't in the show. they actually differ quite a bit, but some things are kept similar.

but alas, i do agree that comic discussion shouldn't be allowed so as to prevent the chance of a spoiler.

Bottom line....I'm not trying to create controversy.

And I'm not really going to ban someone, it was just a silly comment haha

thoughts on beth-carl? i feel like they have purposely been really vague about aging (or super-aging) the younger characters. kinda bugs me...., wasn't beth married to jimmy? and at that point carl was approx. 11 yrs old? i know it's the zombie apocolypse but does that make it out for an early twenties woman to bed buddy up with a preteen? not in my book. i feel like that is where the writers are taking this. maybe it's just a friendly relationship, i hope so. i have the comics but i refuse to read beyond where the tv show is, but this beth/carl thing is killing me! the way this season has been portrayed has in my opinion leaned more toward theatrical/comiclike/soap opera-esque than the previous seasons which seemed to have a more realistic overtone. don't get me wrong, the storylines have my full interest, i just feel the protrayal through writing, cinematics, as well as acting have kind of changed gears. my boyfriend who is a fanboy nerd thinks it's much better but i feel the show is losing some of it's mass appeal. i am sure a lot of people don't see the importance of having mass appeal but i really want to see this series play out indefinitely, or as long as the comics keep going.

I don't think Beth was married. she is maggie's little sister and how old do you think maggie is?

yeah, i'm probably just confused. but i would guess maggie is mid to late twenties? the way she told the story about when her sister found out she was on the pill made it seem like quite a bit of time had past since then.

Now that Rick has his closure with Lori the Ricktatorship will start back up again. It seems obvious that theres gonna be a confrontation between the Governors group and Ricks now that Michonne is in the picture and she knows where Glenn and Gaby are. Part of me wants Meryl and Daryl to meet up but at the same time that would only cause problems for the group.

Next week is going to be an absolute shitstorm though.

Oh yeah and i thought Carol was dead for sure
