yeah... its either gotta be anchored in the shallows... or you have to devise another anchoring system to keep it floating upright in the deeper water. its not too easy i wouldnt think.

yea i wanna try sliding a rail with a wakeboard so bad. but i know if I made a slider and just left it out on the potomac river all summer, the cops would probably take it away, or kids would fuck with it.

I have hade the sliding part but puting barrels on it is hard because it can be unstabel. It is also a pain in the ass to take it in and out every time you use it

the best way to make it float is to use an old shitty boat thats like 15 feet that works weel, but the best way is to build it in shallow water and put it on the ground

the designs are pretty simple if you just want a flat rail but building it is a completely different story because there are so many different materials you can build it out of. example: sliding surface can be made from pvc sheeting, pvc pipe, metal rail or plastic deckboard. supports can be either foam billets, barrels or sitting in the shallows.

They are hard, some friends and I tried to make one a few summers ago and it sucked trying to anchor it or make it float neutral. Its like...if you don't anchor it and just rely on barrels or some other flotation device like a boat, when you hit it from any wierd angle besides straight on it shifts and moves, even if its tethered to a brick on the bottom or something. seems like you have to dig it right into the ground on shallow water.

one thing with barrels is that you have to fill them about 2/3 with water so they stay just below the surface giving floatation and also stability. for anchoring in deeper water use 2 cinder blocks for each corner of the slider to minimize movement

you build it and put it in shallow water. im pretty sure you dig it in hte ground or something like that. doesnt work well in the middle of a lake.
