Yoo guys, I was thinking about doing a winch setup and was wondering if anybody has done it before.

What did you use to start? (big inflatable pool? I think this is what i need to use because my parents aren't big on digging up the yard...)

Did you land in another pool or in a lake or pond?

Tow in with ATV, winch, jetski, etc...?

I had a few ideas:

1. Starting dock (table or something so that you can dockstart), then pool, then rail, then land in another pool- towed by ATV

2. Starting dock, pool, rail, land in lake- pulled by jetski

Finally, what size pool did you use? Where did you get it? And how did it hold up? I don't want a wakeboard to hit it and have it pop, making for a short session.

well im thinking of makeing a pool-rail-lake to. for the pool just make a frame with 2by4s and put plastic in it or a waterproof tarp. a pool to rail to pool would be alot of work so i dont know. if you can afford a winch try to find shallow run offs were you can just pound rails in or a wide deep ditch that you could pund some in . Plus if you have a beach and a winch punch a rail in to the sand so theres like 2 or 3 ffet of water around it and put the winch on the gangplank to your dock and you could just sesh it all day.

something like this haha.it would just be so fun to hit it because it would be so easy. you could just walk back and forth. but you would need someone to use the winch but you could just take turns. winchs are really expensive so i dont think i could afford one

my neighbour, brother and me did it in my neighbour's ditch two year ago.

all we did was line the ditch with tarps, filled it with water and put a little box in the middle. we towed with an atv. it wasn't exactly the dopest setup but it was cool to be doing it before the season actually started.

the lake itself was like 50 or so feet long i think, it was a while ago

when my cousin was in arizona and i went out for a while his buddy and him built a "runway" (2x4 frame with tarp inside) then rail then landed in the kids inground pool. it was pretty bad ass, pretty hard though but i'm not that good at wakeboarding anyways haha.

im thinking of making a pool to rail to pool set up this year towed by a winch, but im gonna wait until my seasons over to start planning it out

no offense, but I just watched some youtube videos and this looks like the most pointless thing ever. Might as well build a summer ski setup or something.

buy a boat, this seems kinda weird, i guess it could work, i have only heard of them in ponds and small man made body's of water.

but the point is to do rails and i cant put any rails on my lake permanently

and if you have ever done a rail jam type thing, you would know how sick and fun they

you can hit it when its raining or set up lights for at night

you dont need to have the lake be glass for a sick session
