Wakeboard

its essentially a reverse cartwheel almost... takea progressive edge and basically push the nose towards the sky and the wake and line tension pushes/pulls you around, hard to visualize, actually pretty easy to do, and they feel sweet
 
hs backroll, scarecrow, whirley, ts/hs 3s, wrapped ts/hs 3s, batwings, ts bs 180s/3s, done 5s, but I'm not too impressed by them. oh jea, and tantrums, can almost get them to blind but I come down weird and it pulls be landing wrapped up weird.
 
damn, pretty solid list you have... I agree on the 5s, I think t/s3s are more fun. I haven't nailed a h/s 5 yet, backrolls off the doubleup are fun, almost got roll2reverts...
 
Yeah, I can do roll to reverts too, its just pulling with your back hand when your comming out of the roll. its kinda weird landing switch comming out of an invert like that, you have a lot of momentum and its easy to wash out.

I havent done a whole lot of HS 5s, but they can happen, for me the biggest thing is leaning back to get a good hold on the water when you land. I'm not good at landing hs switch really, or else my tantrum to blinds would be happening.

You should try ts bs 180s. I just started doing them this summer and they are mad fun. Surprisingly easy, you just have to pull and trust that you arnt going to die.
 
yea I need to try them on a bigger wake and longer line that I ride now... I almost had them before on my smaller wake... also wasn't as good. Its all about the early handle pass right?
 
yeah, just pull with your right arm(assuming your regular) towards your ass and it will swing you around, since you can do 3s I'm guessing you understand how to pull the rope.

What kinda boat do you have? board? are you riding 70'?
 
my family has a 99 tige 21i... kinda small lippy wake, I does OK with like 10 ppl in it or I have a couple bags, used to do like 1200 total, but one broke so weight it with 600 or so, it does ok for what I do, I ride 72.5-75 usually...

I have some older (much richer) friends that have sick boats... 03 centurion avalanche, 03 X-2, 04 X-star... I ride all these boats however they weight them at 80 usually.. 22-23 on perfect pass, I rode Jerry Nunns malibu this summer at 80 as well I think... What do you ride behind, how about setup?

I ride 05 Substance 138 and 05 transits LE, but the board is getting tired... not as lively
 
Thats rad you ride LF. LF is the way to go, I have the subject 137 w/ the sphinx boots.

I have a 02 centurion hurricane V-drive, and a few bags that I weight it down with.

You like your Tige? Do you have the TAPS system on it? I have a buddy with a Tige and its pretty dope, pretty poppy wake. its shorter, its like 18 or 19 ft though.

I usually ride 70-80 ft, it just depends on what I'm feeling; if I want to go huge or just take it easy.

I usually ride at like 26 mph, I like it fast for some reason, even when I ride behind malibus and stuff I go a good 3-4 mph faster than most other people.
 
thats sick, yea I just ride what feels right for the boat. Some boats the wake is mush at 22 so I bump it to 24... my boat I ride 26-27 but Im pretty sure my speedos are a lil fast... I dont have perfect pass... If you ever get a chance to ride a new x-star, do it. I had so much time on every single trick, the wake seems to go on forever... oh yea I ride a supra 22ssv every now and then weighted with like 2k... the wake is a beast.

Honestly the tige kinda sucks, but I can't complain ya know... Ive landed all I know behind my boat, so its not hindering my progression. This year if Ive got the dough I wanna step it up to a new watson or maybe just new substance... gotta demo... I read shit at wakeworld.com some and everyone is hyping up Ronix... idk if Im buying all the hype but they have a sick team forming...
 
Yeah, Ronix is the new hyperlite. they look sick, they are made of wood.

The old owner of hyperlite gave the company to liquid force because he was in financial trouble and didnt want to lose it, with a verbal agreement that he would get it back when he was ready. The guys and LF said no, they were going to keep it, so Hyperlite is now owned by LF. That is why all the prime Hyperlite guys (parks, chad, danny) are all going to Ronix.

Ronix boards are super sexy, I suggest you at leaste look at them.
 
actually... I forget the guys name, I think its Archie or Art something... he owns basically LF, Hype, CWB, Obrien... everything, similar to you know Quiksilver with rossi etc, The ONE is probably a pretty hot board, coming from a substance I imagine its similar. You ever ride a Hype Roam? Boards wicked fun, pops hard but landings are slick if you don't land perfect
 
Yeah, I had a lot of fun on it. My subject is real flexy so its kinda the same deal, though it has the cupped fins, that is about it, there isnt a whole lot of tread on the board so it rides a lot like the roam(compaired to other boards, still a totally different ride)

Do you wakeskate at all?
 
every now and then to switch things up and keep it fresh, not reall good tho, I don't skate otherwise so I haven't gotten shuvits yet, I get the occassional ollie 180... worken on w2w grabs and grab 180s... I wakesurf the avalanche sometimes, thats a pretty solid time as well
 
haha I wasn't gonna say anything. Only time we kneeboard is when its rough, we go 3 at a time and battle... standup and tackle eachother and shit, its pretty funny
 
Yeah, thats the only thing I have ever done on a kneeboard is stand up on it when I was like 10. tubing on the other hand is probobly one of the greatest tests of strength, courage and balls to ever become apparent to man.
 
kneeboarding reminds me of skiing, just on a monoski with really short legs. i just like to carve and do spins of the water, and the ocasional 3 feet of air!! ya!!
 
I agree... many a friend has been launched into the atmosphere by the tripleup wakes we make. We usually double tube to maximize the social atmosphere, Ive been landed on haha You are correct, holding on when you know its a bad idea is the ultimate test of man to see what one is made of, Im pretty sure what we've done could be classified as harassment, assault, etc, we all get ours tho its fun
 
Oh my god. My knees hurt so bad after that.

Anyways, I can throw down a 7 if I'm on the money, and thats going about 30mph so its a hard landing when I crash.

I like f/s 3's those are fun, and feel sweet.
