Wakeboard Advice

I've been wakeboarding about 10 times this summer with friends and I really like it so I'm most likely going to buy myself a board. I'd still say I'm a beginner but I don't need a complete n00b board. I'm looking for something that isn't too expensive and I could easily find at a local shop or Sports Authority, Dicks etc. incase this matters like it does on skis... height 5 10 weight 145, any advice is appreciated

Thanks

Liquid Force. And you cant find anything worth riding at Sports Authority/etc. Get an intermediate Liquid Force board and boots from ebay. eBay always has last years stuff for cheap.

some of it is personal preference too. you may like a small board to whip around and stuff like i do or you may want something a little bigger and more stable. anything between like a 125 and 128 would probably be pretty good for you. my friend has a liquid force board that he likes. i have a cwb and its a good board

krown makes some cheap ones. Liquid Force is good. youll prolly end up spendin 200-300 tho cuz bindings are pricy.

Dude go hyperforce. I ride a 135 premier hyperlight board and its so ill. Lots of pop and can turn so good and butter.

Yeah I ride a Hyperlite Premier with S Bonafay bindings.

I am happy with my experiences with both Hyperlite and Liquid Force

Liquid force is the shit. I just got back from a week wakeboarding venture at Shasta Lake. I'll probobly go back later this week too. But anyways, about your question. . . I'd get something intermediate to advanced if you are planning on progressing in the sport. I ride the shane/subject w/ sphynx bindings cause they are hott.

You just have to figure out if you want 3 stage or continuous.

oh hey, this is kind of related, my friend made a custom speaker box with with 4 cut-outs for 6x9 speakers. I need to buy speakers, amps, and wiring and hopefully find someone to install it. Any recommended speakers? amps? low cost is a must, and durable.

I have kenwood amp/ defcon speakers in my boat. it souunds pretty good, some electrical problems with my sub(sony Xplod) so I unplugged it and I don't really care, its louder w/out it anyways.

i love my cwb but i can see how it wuold be a bit unstable for a beginer. you may still want to look into those.

my first board was liquid force. real cheapie with sandle bindings. i dont see wakeboarding as being one of those sports that the board makes a HUGE difference

i liek anyhting hyperlite but my favorite board is prolly obrien player for your size id pick a board around 133 length

i kinda agree that any nice board rides well. The place where you need to spend money is on bindings. Shity bindings suck. You want ones that are supportive so you have your board more a part of you.

thats a pro board though.

dont get a pro board just yet get something simple for beginners because it will be harder to learn on a proboard

dude no its not. Its like a gay version of wakeboarding if you cant skate. Whats the point if you cant do kick flips and stuff. There isnt one. Go wakeboarding

wakeskating is tons of fun, You don't have to do kickflips and shit. Whenever I wakeskate I just do benny honnas and shit.

And get something bigger, like a 137 or something. You'll thank me when you land.

you are dumb and closed minded. do you quit something if you aren't awesome at it right away? if you answered yes. then you are a dumbass and should take up snowboarding. you can pick it up in a couple of days! fuck learning curves!

the fact that it's challenging is what makes it fun.

The substance is def. NOT a beginners board....as i own it, and know. It's a sweet board, edges fast and hard. You can look at my pics i just put a pic of it up.

And yo, i would definitely suggest the Liquid Force Omega. Solid board, and the sell it at Dick's. Look into it.

For bindings, definitely go with CWB's with the hinge. It's SO easy to get into/out of compared to the regular lace bindings. I have the vapor's, but they a $250. You can get CWB Seven's w/Hinge tech for like 160ish.

Haha dude if you want to be that close minded and biased, you can look at wakeboarding the same way. ie: "Wakeboarding is gay! They just do twirls and gay spins in the air! And their feet are attached! Fuckin cheaters!

BTW I wakeboard and wakeskate, but a recent ankle injury transfered me to 90% wakeskate and 10% wakeboard, and I love it.

i just went and bought an obrien oasis 137 cm board/binding combo for $210 (40 percent off) at sports authority

The liquid force subjekt is the best board ever made. if you dont get it, you will regret it for the rest of your life and probobly go to hell for neglect.

I Just got a new board yesterday so fucking sick. I got the New watson pro model board and boots. Cant wait to ride my new setup today. Shit cost way much though.

To the dude that said wakeskating is only for doing kickflips and shit. I ride my wakeskate just like my wakeboard, I cut out just as hard and jump the wake with just as much speed. No difference until you fall, the board STICKS to your feet.

I went wakeskating today, it was badass, on my old casette conccave finless. It was the most fun wakeskating ive had in a couple years. Tobad the water was all blown out.

my cousin just got a ronix board for like $250, the board is $800. it is sooooo sick no fins or anything edges so nice definitely not recommending it just claiming i rode it and loved it.
