Im thinking about investing in some sake skis. I suck dick at slalom skiing and i `an wakeboard a bit. What i want to know is will my snow skiing skills transfer well or is it totally different.

Also when im shopping for a pair what should i look for

Dude its so different in almost every way i think. You kinda always are riding back seat turning your shoulders to turn and in the air it feels akward. invest in a wakeboard way more fun/easier to progess on. I have one for sale to pm me if interested.

mmm downer. ive been watching videos of it today and it looks soo similar. I think im going to just try and demo some.

looks like pow skiing... huge fat reverse camber skis in water. looks like a lot of fun actually. to bad there is no lakes around here to do it in.

I tried waterskiing for the first time today and I did not like it too much. Somehow, it took me 5 tries to get up. When I got up, it was really easy and boring. I went out of the wake and ate it a few times out there and then tried jumping the wake and messed myself up. It's not that fun. It's not a whole lot like snow skiing. If you are looking for something to help you get better at skiing, you are better off rollerblading or hitting a backyard jib. I happen to hate water sports in general so that probably didn't help.

It was water skiing. Is wake skiing like twin tip water skiing? Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes to stuff like this.

no, it's actually not that bad on the knees at all. in all of the years I've skied (comp), I think I can count on one hand the number of blown knees I've seen. if anything, it's rough on the shins when you start doing tricks (and crashing).

invest in some HO wake skis - they make the best ones I've seen. it's not like walking off of the mountain and on to the water...it's a little different, but should be a fairly easy transition. it's a lot more of an upper back workout than snow skiing as you're being pulled as opposed to being pushed.

shit, I meant to leave you this. these are the skis you want - size should be right. I don't know what size you are, but unless you're 8 years old and weigh 75 lbs, the 130s are going to be way too damn small. (and even if you are 8 you won't be 75 lbs for long - get the bigger ones.)

you can find the ski binding combos for cheaper than they're listed here, but this will give you an idea of what to look for.

get a kite. kite-surfing is so dope, sooooo much fun. you'll never want to get towed by a boat again. so much more freedom, and you can go for sooooo long. i've used several different boards, some without bindings, and it is great fun. However, I've never seen anyone use wake skis with a kite setup, that could be pretty awesome...

i got pair of these bad boys last summer this is what i haveto say for them

they are more easy to use than water skiis, they are lighter so you could potentialy get more air.

they have wakeboard bindings incase you want to do spins or flips

fins on both ends so you could go switch

i tried to do a 360 off the wake and landed but couldnt keep going

they are pretty fun if you know how to waterski well but unless you do, its going to be almost the same as regular water skiing

hope this helps
