I applied to CU boulder, the only school i want to go to, and got wait listed. I dont know anything about being on a wait list. What are the chances of me getting in? Anyone else got wait listed here?
Wait listing is sketchy business. If you got into another school go there and transfer in after a year. Most schools require a deposit by may 1, and if you don't, your shit out of luck for that school. And if you are wait listed you are most likely going to hear middle of may. And if you don't get in. Your fucked, no fall semester for you. IF you got into a school go to it. Transfer. Wait listing can be risky
Enrollment deposits are like 200 bucks aren't they? If you got in somewhere else pay the deposit, then wait. If you get in to CU then just say fuck the other school and you lose 200 bucks. 200 bucks is nothing in the grand scheme of things and it would be well worth losing if you get into the school you want to go to.
Yea i applied to University of Arizona and got in there. I also got into Loyola in maryland and George Mason. I will probably go to U of A and pay that fee and see if I get into boulder. Anyone know when they let you know if you can go ?
I don't know if there is still time for this or not, but you might want to try sending them your next report card or progress report to show that you're still working hard even though you are a second semester senior. A few of my friends found out they were wait listed at minnesota first semester of senior year and they sent their first semester grades and called and then got in. It never hurts to try...good luck
call them. a lot. there's a shitton of people on that list with you who will probably all do the same thing- wait with their thumbs up their ass to hear back and never get in. if you show them that you really want in by constantly showing interest and finding out what more you can do to get in, your chances of being accepted are much better.
word. you don't wanna miss the chance to get into college b/c of a wait listing. a bunch of the eastern liberal arts schools like Bates or Middlebury or Hamilton did it to a few of my friends.... they didn't get in.
Yea i called them up today and they told me writing a letter to the school helps, but that a lot of people will be on the list so it all depends on how many people who got in don't go there. Anyone else in this situation?
not to me but a few friends, generally it just means that you COULD get in with your transcript but there are more "viable candidtes" who either have better grades or...rich parents. showing the effort will help.
i got waitlisted there and got in, same with UNH and other schools, but why are you just realizing you were waitlisted in april, its not something you just dont know about
