Waist size?

so i’ve been riding line’s sir francis bacons with a 104mm waist on them (i think?). it’s the only pair of skis i have and got real comfortable riding them all-mountain.

just recently i was thinking of picking up a pair of 108mms. the skis are 100-200g heavier but the turning radius is the same.

my question is, taking all-mountain into consideration, would one have a hard time skiing all-mountain with a pair of 108s? would it be any different from 104s? suggestions would be great as i’ve been hearing a lot of different answers from a lot of different people.

Depends where you are and what you are mostly going to be riding. Personally, i think 100 is too much for true all mountain, and what you start to gain in float and crud busting, you lose in edge hold. If you're in the rockies though, you're probably fine. Do you enjoy ripping pure carved turns and making some trenches on a groomer? if so go narrower. Overall though, 4mm difference is not that much.

yeah, actually some guy at my local ski shop said the same thing. i shred both east and west coast (but i live east coast). thanks for the input!

If you have an extra pair of narrow skis for those ice days in the East, go for it. Pull out a ruler. 4mm is nothing

Why the move from 104 to 108?

I have a pair of 116 cm volkl ones and I love them all I do is float on top of the chowder. I’d recommend go big or go home. I do feel it’s a strange feeling going from my 92 park skis to my pow skis but after a few turns im solid for the day with my fatties
