who makes up the NS staff these days? Who's running the ship? whats being done to grow NS?

seems like a lot less transparency and more silence from the rednames for the past few seasons, doesn't really instill confidence when the perception is that ns is slowly dying

NS was great up until a few weeks ago. Sammy C was suppose to do a AMA and answered a few questions and left. Stock has been down ever since

In Montreal there's Dr.Zorko and P3t3r that are managing the site and doing sales. The rest of the team is Eheath, Twig and Kretzschmar if I'm not mistaken. I'm starting an internship in 2 weeks to do SEO, so that NS is ranking better on Google for people who are searching ski related stuff. There's also philgaucher who's doing an internship

Ama's were mostly great. I wasn't around for the stories glory days but always hear about how ns served as a great platform for interaction with top tier skiers and it nice to have them around for a few months.

if this site ever goes down i feel like a part of me would die. like im not as active as i used to be, but ive met some amazing lifelong friends through here, and its been a big part of my life for ten years

NS is becoming less popular. but, doesn’t mean that there will not always be at least a few individuals who are passionate about what this community represents and those people do and will work hard to keep it alive in some way or another.

Yeah, we're sorry about that one! Sammy is a hard fella to pin down but we're hoping he'll get back to it at some point. We're stoked how the other AMAs panned out though, so thanks to everyone who got involved with those.

Ding ding. We're stoked to have [tag=117993]@fredyferl[/tag] joining us and [tag=245171]@philgaucher[/tag] has been crushing it as an intern over the summer. These two are the best street skiing SEO team you could imagine. [tag=38820]@eheath[/tag] moved on from NS staff a few months back but he's sticking around as head moderator and will always be at the heart of NS. I run the content side of Newschoolers and [tag=55870]@Dr.Zorko[/tag] heads up the business side of things, with [tag=176475]@Kretzschmar[/tag] and [tag=53001]@P3t3r[/tag] backing us up. I'm going to make an effort to get in the forums more [tag=188025]@a_burger[/tag] but as anyone has ever met me will know, I don't say a lot in real life either! As to what we've been up to... well, it's summer so we've been stacking content, redesigning stuff behind the scenes and trying to fix some other issues. We've got some cool stuff coming this fall that I hope you're all going to be stoked on, including the return of [tag=195966]@cydwhit[/tag], a couple of regular NS users joining the writing team and some stuff that I have to keep under wraps for now.

One of the things I'm most stoked on involves this guy^... and while this is somewhat true^, NS is certainly less popular than it was in the glory days, things have been pretty consistent for the last few years, with some upticks here and there.

i think the site itself has only gotten better and better over the years

forums in general are less popular and i think that's the biggest issue, which is too bad, there's (so much stupidity and bad info but also) so much good information to be learned on forums like these

The number of times I followed up with him is enough to think we were a telemarking company. Sometimes you just gotta take an L and move on. On the real Sammy is a true G and I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped in that thread 10 months from now and answers all the questions.

Also OP, you'd be surprised how many lurkers we have these days. Posting is down but people still come check the scene more than you'd think.

Maybe we'll do a little intro piece on who's steering the ship these days but feel free to reach out to us anytime. We all love to ski and we are always down to meet up.

yeah i was wondering about that, even years ago i'd always hear it quoted that generally on forums, some really small percentage of people post and contribute compared to the number of people who just read passively, maybe not even signed up/in

TL;DR, as far as I'm concerned [tag=38820]@eheath[/tag] is the supreme leader of newschoolers and I'm supposed to call him directly for all complaints
