Wachusett

Kind of sickening to see those rails still sitting there.

And no guns blazing on Look Mom with snow making only happening on Smith. No real hurry.

on the bright side wachusett doesnt really have that many trails so they are bound to make it sooner than later with round the clock snow making temps

cant they just trhow in a few rails then keep making it bigger and bigger as they blow more? thats how it has been done in past years and they dont really need to have a full park with jumps and such on the first day the parks open. whatever doe as long as theres something to hit this weekend i am content

park was coming into shape tonight, they had a few jumps half built and a hip and a buttery box sqaure thing up top

As of right now, you enter the park and there is a hip with a corrugated on top to the left. To the right/center there is a table with the wallride. Then there are also two jumps. A lot of digging to do tonight. Worked 7 to 4, now 9 to 4 tonight to get the ball rolling

I know there were a bunch of wachusett kids at the USASA comp at crotched today.. I was the kid in the red/grey saga hoodie with filthy riches.. i didnt stay for awards though, i think i got 2nd but if anyone could let me know thatd be nice (Ryan Walker 16-18 age group)

salomen and jibbingeast were there according to sweendog they might know

park is ok, the actual setup like what rails are in and where stuff is and such is sick, but everything is set up poorly. im sure it will get better once they get some time to work on it doe, still give a lot of credit to the crew for getting it set up in like 36 hours

not really sure....there were only three people in your age group though, and Jeremy LeBlanc won, sooo I wouldn't doubt it; but they only announced the winner for your age group due to the fact there were so few kids competing in your class.

alright, i figured he would win he had a sick second run but i didnt see the other kids second i know he fell the first time

Here now. This park is fucking retarded. Every feature to flat. Dumb ass box after the only flat bar that has no lip on, mind you. Jumps to flat. Knees destroyed.

@WachuParks on Twatter said they were making the landings steeper, also putting in the urban street section with von zipper rail, down bar, and flat box w/staircase

Someone is going to get seriously injured the way features are currently set up. We're not Hood, we're not Breck. This isn't the Poor Boyz super park shoot.

I think both of the jumps are fucked. I wouldn't hit the first one tonight because the landing is so damn flat and the in run too flat to be able to hit anything else before it. Flat-bar into curved box on the cliff. I'm all in favor of the cliff, I think it's a really cool idea but executed very poorly. There's no lip onto the rail, then landing following the cliff is flat. Mini dfd leads straight into a lift tower. Saw a kid literally miss the tower by an inch after botching a fs swap.

When we set the mini dfd, we worried about that but it was closer to 6 and it was a poor call. I will have to see how things are for myself. I didn't have a chance to ride it, but I didn't know about a lack of a lip onto that flat bar as well. I left before the lips were made.

As for the jumps, supposedly being fixed tonight, I hope it gets better. Anything else?

Hahaha that's funny because before I even rode it I told one of the diggers that 90% of the skiers at this mountain would be able to hit one maybe two rails, then he said "Matt racicot hit all of them..."

Wtf that's so not cool...

When I left around 7 am on Sunday, there weren't even lips to hit the rails. I went home, slept until today, didn't go to school, did some homework and now I am here where everyone is yelling at me because the park sucks, I am just the worker monkey ):

Do you know which one/what he looked like?

Haha not yelling at you man! As a first year digger it's well beyond your control. But the diggers there today certainly didn't pass the eye-test for me, compared to diggers in the past. I just hope this turns around because that park really isn't passable as it stands.

I know I mean other people. There is some good talent among the supervisors Chuck and Brad and Andrew has a good vision. I think it will just take a few more tries to get everyone meshing. It has only been 3 days

Yeah no doubt about it. Just with such a delayed opening I expected a way more ridable park. Like whatever happened to a nice trick able flat bar? It's just way too tech, combined with too flat.

I wasn't for that tear drop after the flat bar, I said that was perfect for a close out. Still a trickable feature but an added level of difficulty, not just an added level of danger.

But the von zipper down rail, the hideously painted down bar, and the flat box still need to be put in, as well as the up rail and longer flat down. What about the corrugated on the hip? Would people prefer that or the mailbox?

was there tonight, i found the park pretty fun actually, it was good to be able to hit some big features for once... the first jump is so fucking poppy and its fun and to be honest i didnt really think the landing was that bad. As for the second jump, there was pretty much no landing and it sucked. Most of the rails were fun i thought but maybe thats just me... overall, im pretty stoked that there will be some big features in the park this year

Which rails did you find hitable?

I might be headed there tomorrow morning to avoid the icy night session, at which point I'm going to hit the first jump.

the first box, the corrugated, i didnt hit the whole flat bar to kinda rainbow rail thing i would just come onto the box from the tranny on the left side, the dfd, the rainbow box and i think thats it... i didnt hit the wall ride because it just looks dumb, i didnt hit the huge ass rainbow rail and i didnt hit the whale tail to down box but it didnt look too bad... i spent most of my night on the first jump because it gave you so much air time it was sweet

Hopefully tonight they can make the knuckle on the jumps more pronounced, a more defined landing. What was the speed like for jump one? I was speed checking it all night as pretty much straight line from the first box with a few carves

well i like to take landings deep usually so i would bomb from the first box with maybe one speed check and it worked pretty well for me

From kids in my school I heard its horrible and everything is set up strange how was it Brandon? Anything like that

i thought it was pretty fun but everything is pretty big, and most people at your school dont have big enough balls to hit the stuff thats set up right now

skied it again this morning. It was a lot more enjoyable having seen it already, and the snow was amazing. But it still wasn't that great. I stand by my statement that the first jump landing is too flat. no matter what speed i carried into the jump, i could not find the sweet spot so i've decided there is none.

I agree. It's just another trail, no features are enjoyable to me. The funnest thing in the hip and taking the transfer of the final knowl to the space to the right of it. Did a huge stalefish 1, felt like the ish

theres tres things that could be done and the park would be a solid 7 take out ze tear drop box and put it in place of the whale tail, fix the jump landings and build a jump at the bottom and where the jump last year was, and put the rainbows on rollers there just so much better like that. and maybe switch the corrugated with the mailbox and make a down flat but idk im sure it will be sick as the season goes on

The rail setup and that first jump looked pretty fun can't wait to go this weekend. What days are you heading up Alex? If it doesn't rain Friday then I'll be up there.

Definitely replace that corrugated with the mailbox though...would be so much more fun.
