So I live in Rhode Island and I am kinda strapped for cash. Wachusett's pass is under 300 while loon and waterville are both over 700, same with all the vt mtns. Plus Wachusett would be 1 1/2 hours and VT/NH would easily be three. They have night skiing and a decent park but no verticle and from what i hear no tree skiing. So do I save the 400 and make the occasional trip up to Jay or somewhere with a lot of snow, or just bite the bullet and get a pass to loon. O yea and i work full time so it would definitely be only a weekend thing, but like i said wawa has night skiing and could go up there after work on occasion.

i skied wachusett 5 days a week in high school. it gets old fast. theft is also a big problem there, and there are lots of punk kids who dont ski/board well and think they run the place. Loon is almost unapproachably crowded on weekends. Are you in college? colleges passes are the best deals. you should look into the threedom pass and other passes. also consider a pass that has blackout dates if you can....because they are cheaper. peace

I used to live 5 min from wawa, but my dad hated it so much that he skied Vt mostly instead. I understand that cost and drive are factors too, and living in Ri is a bitch for skiing. However, when you hear no tree skiing, its not meaning that its limited, it means its non-existant. The national forest regs make them rope off everything whatsoever. Loon wouldn't be so bad, its a pretty straight shot up north. Sugarbush isn't as far as you'd think also, and prices aren't quite as steep.

I think i'm going to get the wachusett college pass this year. I go to school in worcester so it seems like the best idea with the location and the night skiing. i feel like if i bought a pass to a mountain up in vt or nh i wouldn't be able to use it often enough, unfortunately
