I was looking on wachusetts site about the ski swap sale thing and found out that they are having a "fun in the sun rail jam" on october 6th. during the sale. heres the info off the site:

well its the fun in the sun rail jam and its the second part of it thats the only reason why im pretty sure its only snowboarding. either way im showing up. they cant stop us from hitting it.
 
I called wa-wa this morning and they told me that the rail jam is definitely snowboard only which really pisses me off! I think wa-wa has really improved their park over the past few years however, I don’t understand why they still cater to the snowboarder 95% of the time. I agree with Corey and think we should all just show up and if they have enough skiers I think they might even make a ski division considering it is only a cash purse and would be easy to do. If not, the mountain is a public park and it is hard for them to not allow us to hit the rails after the comp is over
 
ill be doing th rail jam, i think its gay that skiers cant do it. even if they dont have acomp for the skiers they should still let them hit it

theres no support from any ski company. and wawa sucks with this shit. unless they have ski company support we get screwed.
 
that sucks. i was getting all excited figuring wa wa was turning things around. it didnt seem like it was going to be a snowboard only comp but i guess i forgot that we are talking about wa wa and thats just how gay they really are
 
thats so gay. wawa needs to stop dissing on skiers seeing how thats like 75 % of there total profits come from skiers not snowboarders.
 
^your numbers are way off. but thats besides the point. they really do suck at accepting that skiers go in the park.

big step in the right direction last year though. one of the crowleys grandkids entered a pipe comp on skis. if there kids start getting more involved in the park and less in racing we could see some shit turn around at wawa.
 
^yeah i no it was just a guess. I think there are more skiers at wawa tho, maybe not in the park but w.e they just need to keep going in the direction they started last year and thell be fine
 
come and watch me shred the rad. i think everyone that skis should just come up and shred it after the comp is over and we'll all shred it till the snow is gone!
 
Hey Guys, Benji Pond here- I am the creator of the Fun in the Sun railjam... It originally started as a backyard fun thing last year and this year i improved on it to make it more open to the public. I did ALL the work for this, got the sponsors, got the rails, getting the snow, got the prizes, got the flyer done and posted out the the shred community. NOT WAWA. Wachusett has nothing whatsoever to do with this event except the fact they are allowing us to use their property. I created the event so i make the rules, not wachusett, so dont be bitching at wachusett about it. I chose for it to be FOR SNOWBORDERS ONLY AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE FOR SNOWBOARDERS. To even hit the rails you need a waiver and a bib, so good luck getting onto the hill if you are on skis. All the prizes are snowboard prizes also obviously seeing im not going to give my friends ski crap. By the thin chance that you get onto the hill and ski, you wont be winning anything and you will basically be giving me $10 for your entry to be given back as a cash prize to a snowboarder. Money is being taken out of the cash prize to take care of my expenses and will be taken from snowboarders to cover this fee.... YOU WILL NOT BE RIDING FOR FREE....

DONT BLAME THiS ON WAWA. I MADE THE EVENT...... If youve got something to bitch about you can say it to me.... hope you bring a stacked wallet cuz thats the only way ide let you guys put ruts in my course

i dont know about these other kids but i just want to hit rails since there is nothing else i can ski right now. i dont give a shit if i have a shot at winning prizes or whatever so even if it cost me 10 bucks I probably would still hit it if the rails were fun.

the reason people are pissed at wawa (not really you) is because its just another event "endorsed" (since they let you use the property, rails, etc.) that doesnt include skiers, and wawa has always come off as being a snowboarder focused mountain. i dont understand why you are so against skiers. i ski with snowboarders all the time and love it, get over this whole skier snowboarder conflict thing...
 
Yo guys I'm with Ben Pond right now, it's cool if you guys want to pay the 10 bucks to ski, the only reason for the charge is he is deducting it from the snowboarders for all his costs to do this, this has been planned months in advance and alot of money has gone into it, flyers in eb, salt...ect. So if you guys want to be cool and throw down a 10 spot then its deff cool if you guys ski, we just want it to be fair.
 
neskiah11, i like where your comming from dude, i respect that, as long as you want to pay the 10 bills for me doing all the work im down with that, no side slipping the landing though or 1440s onto the boxes lol
 
just got backing from shredding the rad on my shredstick it was mad fun good work by ben, nice set up even though it was a little slow but still sick
 
So...they ended up letting skiers hit the set-up? I was there at like 1 and they were just starting to shape the snow and there was only snowboard people there!
 
yeah sorta like there was liek two skiiers hitting it with everyone else. but they couldnt for the finals and then when it was done the hit the dfd
 
fuck, i completely forgot it was today. what was the setup? and good to hear that some skiers got to hit it.

and i still can't believe people are still fighting between snowboarding and skiing, even transworld snowboarding is chill with skiers, not to mention many snowboard companies like air blaster, anon/red/analog, and even the guys at eastern boarder. libtech and Palmer both make skis now too. plus we share a common hatred for gapers(whether there on skis or a board).
 
the setup was a real mellow dfd and a down box with like 6 or 7 trucksloads of snow and about a 100 kids and the most snaking you wil ever see. but it was mad fun and was a good time, good job by ben
 
thanks guys, good to hear positive feedback about it. it seemed like it was pretty fun. i just had alot of fun with cole messing on the mic... if you guys know anyone with footage or photos ask if they could send them to me at jeenyusrider06@yahoo.com cuz i want to put together a press thing for it
