I want to step up my filming quality/skills, and I have decided that I would like to buy a new camera. It has come down to the VX2000 and the GL2. I keep hearing conflicting answers on which one is a better buy. Any insight on which one is a better choice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

shit. delema. buy both if you got the money, but both are spendy. my recomendations is check ebay. and see what you can get for the better deal as this schwags charcter mentioned..

um at the same price its hands down the gl2, but i would go with what ever you can find a better price on in the end.

yo dood if your going to buy a camera that expesive i would go to your camera store and ask them...not a bunch of chumps on newschoolers that are going to pick the nicer looking camera....and buying a better camera isnt going to improve your skillz

sorry

going to a store and trying out each is important but i think its good to get the opinions of other people. i bet most people who responded know a thing or two about cameras. by the way, i think the vx2000 is prettier.

Going to stores and asking for advice is not usually the best idea. The salesmen will often sell you which ever makes them the most money.

find a smaller camera store near you with people who actually know something. i went into best buy and they guy didnt know what a CCD was..

yea check out that 3ccd panasonic if you dotn want to spend as much. so far its gotten good reviews.

well i am assuming he already has experience, so he knows what he is looking for, the best way you are gonna get what you want is to go out and try out both cameras, and get what you like best, and does what you want.

the camera to get would be the vx2000 because canon has a problem with their camcorders with the heads needing to be replaced within the first 2 years which is around 3 or 4 hundred dollars, and the play buttons start to not work within 2 or 3 years, and horrible low light, level 1 productions used vx2000 for all of their videos exept shanghai six

in a lot of camera sotres 1/2 the poeple know dick all. and there are lots of peeps on newschoolers who have these cameras, i have a gl2...its prety good, i know nothing about the other cam, and haven't seen many peeps using it. but if you have the money go for a panasonic DVX 100....thats the bomb for mini dv.

I was lookin into the pany but went with a vx1000 because it was cheaper. I really like mine and I've heard the vx2000 is even better.

I have a gl2 and im telling this kid BUY THE vx2100!!! its sooo easy to do all the manuel shit and its just a gret all around camera. gl2's are sick but not as user friendly
