Vx1000 or sony hd7?

I am looking for a new camera but i cant decide between the two? vx1000 or sony hd7 ive u have any thoughts let me know
 
Well to answer this question one must ask themselves the question - "do I know about the bird?"...because everyone knows that the bird is the word
 
Yo teddy, i think you mean the fx7?and there is quite a price difference between the two camcorders, which is an obvious sign that one is better than the other (vx1000)if you have the money you should probably get the vx1000, but you might want to consider the learning curve and start out with something a little more basic, with less manual controlsand the fx1000 shoots on minidv tapes, which can be a pain
you should also look at panasonics hmc40 and 150, and maybe the dvx (if you are willing to sacrifice the hd)
also you might want to look at the canon xha1, I heard that is pretty good too
 
yea i was just saying it might be a little more complicated than the fx7, but you are right, he'll be fine with itsorry i don't know that much about sonys
 
haha yup, it's actually almost 15 now.

I wonder how that camera even comes up when people are looking into new cameras. Every now in then there's a thread where someone has it as an option and just ... no, no it shouldn't be an option.

Between the two options you've given us, there really isn't an option. vx1000 is coming in hot on being an antique, and this sony hd7 you propose doesn't exist.

Perhaps you could tell us what your price range is? And maybe your use/needs for the camera, and also how much experience you have with video. From there i'd be more than happy to help you pick out a camera that will be right for you.
 
well he could mean the jvc hd7. and sony does make an hc7. but i suppose he could mean the fx7, that's probably most likely too because its got a handle.
 
Buying a vx1000 would be silly. but Fx7 is sorta becoming the new vx1000. Check out panasonic's HMC40. It's in the same(ish) price range, but a big step up in features.
 
check out other cams before vx1k...gl2 is even better. check out dvx at this point or hv3o or hmc40
