VW Golf Question

So I'm getting a car soon (I hope) and I was looking at the VW Golf. It looks pretty nice, gets good gas mileage, but I was wondering if the S4's I got would fit in the back? I got them in a 174, and I didn't know if they would fit with my school bag, ski bag, other misc. items. Can someone with a VW Golf (preferably an older model, like 2003ish)post a picture of how their skis fit?
 
Last time I had skis in a small car was last season in a toyota yaris. They were only 165s but they fit and a yaris is WAY smaller. But you could always get a roof rack.
 
Im sure a car dealer would be nice enough to let you try fitting skis in there and then even take it for a test drive for free, seriously
 
Get a roof rack, therefore instead of worrying about your skis fitting you can have more people and gear inside your car, silly.
 
they don't fit in the hatch if thats what ur askin, u have to put em in the backseat. u can't fit more than 3 people with skis unless u get a roofrack
 
I get my 185s in an old subaru justy and thats smaller or the same size as a VW golf i think.

I just wedge them on the dashboard between the driver and passenger seat. then you still have room for a bag etc.

sorry for the hate my buddy has a gti, with a ton of work done but it didn't help when he slamed it to the ground and put to 2 12's in the back, not on top of nothing fitting in the back seets nothing fits in the trunk besides a 12 of beer
 
i only read the first line. and i would bring a tape measure to the car dealership, or someone said your skis, they probably won't let you put them in but you could see. tape measure would work, just size up everything.
 
I know they make ski racks that mount onto bike racks. My friend's dad has one. But by the time you get to the mtn they have shit from the road all over them and its really nasty.
 
get rid of the subs and there's actually quite a bit of room in the hatch. It's the same as any other car really. i've done 3 people with ALL our seperate camping shit and 2 people had stuff to kayak for a week
 
Just get a roof rack, seriously. That way 4 of you plus all your gear is a comfortable fit which means you split gas 4 ways instead of 2.
 
i can fit a pair of 176 pipe cleaners, 170 dobermans, and 165 racetigers with 3 people and their gear in my 2 door pontiac sunbird convertible. i think you're fine
 
Threads like this are why I have a Forester with the largest THULE available. 5 people and ALL of their shit without a problem on every trip we take.
 
my 2001 jetta can fit my skis in it no problem. i just fold the back seat down. and i have less room cause its not a hatchback. you are fine.
