Does anyone know what the animal on the steering wheel of a 1981 VW rabbit is? im guessing a rabbit, more importantly it was featured on a very important crest

Also, the crest is apparently multi colored, the colors represent countrys, what country is red?
 
i just googled that steering wheel and it doesnt look like any animals are on there. you sure its the stock wheel?
 
it's a wolf on top of a castle, right?

folks have a caddy and i think it's the crest of wolfsburg germany where the factory is located

There's also Wolfsburg Edition VW's but I think thats with the later models.
