Vto/usopen course?

Why are people calling it the US open? Didn't that take place in CO earlier this year? It's the VT open isn't it? That doesn't mean it's only open to VT cats, but it's not the US open right?

the us open os snowboarding is going down on the course right now, and then vt open is the week after. so it's the vt/us open course.

ehh could be 110ft:

thats the biggest landing ive ever seen on the east coast for sure. holy shit.

nah there was no halfpipe there this year, they used snow from the 3 jumps that were there, and the landing is not as long as it may seem from the pic, after seeing it in person I don't see how it can be close to 110

This is off the USOS website:

"As riders dropped in, they had the choice of either hitting a down rail or flat-down box, with stairs in between to keep the gnar factor high. It was then balls-to-the-wall as they charged a quad kicker line. Stomping was essential as anything less would zap your speed, forcing you to either bite the knuckle or skip a jump entirely. This risk didn’t seem to stop anyone from digging deep into their bag of tricks. After the kicker line, riders chose to hit either an up-flat-down box or flat-bar rail."

Pretty sure its more like 80-85. That was the initial estimates from stoked friends...its expected.

I dont know who is what day but Pennywise is one day and DJ Z Trip is the other

i measured it take APPROX measurement of 90ft to the knuckle. so yeah around 80-90 it seems. def the biggest booter the east coast has ever seen. looks sooo fucking perfect i wish they would open that up to the public....aafter

from takeoff to knuckle the big air jump is about 75 80 feet. But the landing is quite long so you could add at least 25 feet to that distance. the jump is sick, cheese wedge is gigantic. defintily lookin forward to some switch 10's or 12's at the vt

the jump line normally goes something like 45, 50, 55, 60 they arent huge but they are super fun, as for rails idk i heard something about a high bar but idk

anyone know if suntanner is going to be open on sunday? the site says Construction for big air but theres nothing in the open/closed box. i thought strattonparks mentioned that the top half will still be open but i just wanted to make sure before i make the drive up

it was closed to day and probably tomorrow too. the jumps below the rainbow box are gone and the battleship thing and the bus are unhittable unless you really want to. now there is the inrun for the big air jump and lights lining it set up so suntanner will almost certainly be closed. all the lips on burnside were made better plus an actual landing on the flat down box, but the wallride hasnt been touched for at least a week and is ridiculously bad, but tomorrows a pow day so hit it if you want i guess.

byrnside is mad fun...flat down rail to about a 25 footish jump then a gap on to 20 foot flat box gap to 20 foot down box then a 20 footish jump then wall ride

super fun to lap

Not true, more like the jumps basically melt and they have to fix them but there is less snow then to fix them.

if you wanna see everything but last rail go to twsnow.com they got a video up from slope

Just for the record someone easily took this jump 120 ft+ last night and somehow didn't die. They ended up cancelling the event cause it was too snowy/windy. fuck

just to confirm the top rails/boxes at the top of the vt open course is a stairset with the option of flat down box or a down rail. Byrnside is fun but I dunno if it's worth going up for, I'd wait til the us open/vt open course is opened to the public after next weekend

flat down, or down rail

35' table

50' table

60'table

35'table
