VT open train

he definatley knows whats up. Out of the 68 kids there were probably 3 or 4 assholes who were breaking shit and throwing snowballs at customers. But hitting the gondola was off the chain.
 
Some things to consider:

Most of the skiers up for the VT Open are not exactly considered professionally atheletes so much as kids.

Come on dude...A 1 hour big air comp/exhibition isn't exactly going to be "epic" or "historical" ever, atleast at the VTO. It was a huge ass jump. People threw down. But it should've been less rushed.
 
I am the source and saw it happen. I was in the parks all day, picked up the signs at the small park twice. Replaced the broken bamboo on the wall ride and the flat down box. And also watched people get hit with snowballs.

 
maybe if you can use some of your money from lift tickets to buy some new bamboo poles im sure they are prolly 80$ a piece nowadays right?

In all seriousness get over yourself stratton, yeah it was stupid to break poles and tear down ropes and signs i will never say that is warrented but expect 15-20's to act like children when placed in large groups and left unsupervised.

If things had been run PROFESSIONALLY maybe the riders would act professional

-Sorry, I wasn't refering to the competition. I actually stay away from all that crap. I just run the parks. Event management is a different dept. I was talking about the train and how kids were sayin it was an "historic" event and such. Yes, it was fuckin rad, and coulda been that much sicker and left a much better impression had the crew involved acted more like adults and not trashed our shit. Just looking for a little respect.
 
maybe if your rangers didnt throw snowballs at us as we passed and said that they "hated us" no snowballs would have gotten thrown at them. your whole crew of park rangers is a bunch of clowns, stratton as a whole needs to clean out their vaginas, not get some fat ass bitch to come try to clip everyones credentials.
 
yo the stratton park crew is a bunch of clowns, the one park guy talking respectable on here seems to be the only legit one. the rest are a bunch of power hungry bobo's that probably tickle their grabs when they try and hit jumps and like to tackle kids half their age. i have a feeling that "ninjapirate420" is the same power tripping homo that grabbed my sleeve at the lift today and made a weak ass attempt to be a badass. and to claiming that some dude would leave us with our jaws wired shut, why didn't he? the worst is that one clown that tackled kish and got fired, and all you bitches were way butthurt and "boycotted" maintaining the course...funny since today seemed to be the SICKEST the course has been with the athletes and coaches who actually care about the course and know what has to be done doing the work.

and who cares about vt open anymore, shit went downhill so hard this year...even if it was held again no one would come because of all the crap that happened this year. fuck stratton i hope no one ever goes to that shithole of a mountain ever again.
 


I'm not Stratton, I just work there and like to build parks. Honestly, I personaly don't give a shit! I'll just go pick the crap back up and/or fix it, nothin off my back.

You'd be suprised at how little the parks dept. actually gets! Besides, the more poles, ropes, and gay ass SES signes we don't have to replace every year, the more rails and features we can build/buy next year. It's all for you guys anyway.

But I do gotta give some credit. It's been a pretty tough year and the last few weeks have been pretty stressfull for the crew. We loved our park on Suntanner and got alot of great feedback for doin a nice job. Then burton came along, closed it down for 2 weeks, destroyed it, and didn't event hold the event. How would you like to see your favorite best park you ever built taken away by BURTON for nothing? Grrr, don't even get me started on that one but I'm glad somebody got to hit that jump.

Anyway, after all that and then the crew gets treated with such hate and dissrespect the other day? I mean how do you think they would react? All in all jus tryin to put it right, ya know.
 
yea i could see that being real frustrating...but the park crew that i encountered pretty much started being dickheads right off the bat. i was grabbed by the sleeve while i was going a decent speed to go into the lift line which was followed by this straight up yelling at me. granted i cut through the woods to go through the bottom of suntanner to the lift, not hitting anything, it's just the way i know how to get there, the way i was lead by kids that usually ski there. i told the guy i won't do it again, but he continued to be an asshole. i never got a tude with him until the end when i told him he should not be and asshole because i'd listen better if he was polite and didn't grab me. i thought he would've learned to not touch people after his buddy got fired for tackling a kid.

so in conclusion of this pointless story, the park crew guys i encountered were never even trying to be nice to anyone and pretty much started any conflict that ended badly. the end.
 
by the way stratton parks your park crew did n ot act professional at all infact they were out of coontrol keep your dogs on a leash. They tackled like 5 kids so fuck stratton i will never go agin

They are far from professional athletes most of them are just sick young guns trying to have fun....no no the PROFESSIONAL athletes are in your GREAT AMAZING US OPEN that is god's gift to men at stratton. Vt open doesnt need the professional athletes of skiing cause there are so many young unknown skiers that simply throw down on the east coast. I would venture to say that also a lot of the kids in the train weren't even in the comp-what is your proof? How do you know this? NOT EVERY KID that is good in the park is automatically associated with competin the vt open. Your just "assuming" that. I have worked for Stratton before and "assuming" is something that the company does not condone. Whether or not they trashed shit I bet if it was all boarders your outlook would have been different considering the strong bias towards snowboarders at Stratton. How does it go? respect gets respect in the park? well you guys pretty much did the opposite: disrespect our park then we disrespect you with a boycott....very mature.
 
shut the hell up, you're an idiot, i doubt stratton is gonna end the VTO.... why? because it's a huge money maker. They don't spend anything building the course because it's left over from the snowboarding US Open and Burton comes in and builds it/foots the bill anyway.Plus the money that's brought in by competitors and their family members (lodging, meals, lift tickets, etc.....) Not to mention all the exposure Stratton gets from it in Freeskier, Newschoolers.com and various film companies. I don't think something like a massive train and lack of respect for officials will end the VTO. because the main reason Stratton hosts the VTO is money, just like every other event. If anything Kelly is going to get fired for doing such a poor job running the event this year, all you guys at the VTO know exactly what I'm talking about. Funny side note, today somebody asked her how many people advance to semi finals and she didn't even know and she's the one running the show, she's a stupid bitch!

Straton I understand that burton took a major dump on you by fucking your park then not even having the event, then you have to deal with a few dickheads out of a huge crowd, but the way that you respond to it is tackling kids, boycoting shit the next day, and trying to enforce your 'power' on parkskiers for the next few days? FUCK YOU Your a ski resort...which is a company... You acted just as poorly as those 18 year old kids that fucked this shit up. ahhhh... i can't rant much more... to burned out
 
Stratton brought the madness on it self! They took responsibitly of taking in nearly 300 kids. So they need to find a way to keep the occupied, which they normally do very well. But this year they decided that the day before slopestyle semi's they would close the course leaving the competitors no where to ski/train.... so we would go to the public park?? the big PARK WAS CLOSED!! for no reason.... "they wanted to keep kids off the big air jump"... well take 10 minutes to throw up some fencing!

Then they leave 200 kids with 10 foot jumps in a little park...... What else are we going to do but screw around. They tell the already pissed kids, that they are shutting down the small park! So kids got out of control...... I was one of the first 10 people in the train, and one of the last and it was perfectly in control until the mountain started yelling at us. I see the whole thing as strattons fault
 
I think stept brings up another good point, why the fuck has suntannter been closed for the last 3 weeks? Seriously is it that hard to put up some fencing. Byrnside has been the only thing open since the construction of the big air jump started. Even today after ALL big air comps of the season were over, suntanner was still closed, stratton is so weak sometimes.

Moral of the story. Except replace sometimes with most of the time. The only time I used to love stratton was during the US and VT Opens. The US Open totally sucked balls last weekend and other than the dope ass kids that were killing the slopestyle course today, the VT Open hasnt been anything too special. Seems like its not nearly as well organized as last year. I know Kerry used to really put a lot of time into organizing things so everything went smoothly, too bad she doesnt work their anymore.
