VT Open setup

Does anyone know what the setup for the slopestyle is gonna be this year? I hope it's like it was last year, because that was so sick.

i'm pretty sure it will be amazing because they always put a lot of time in building the us open course there. Hopefully the jibs get a little more exciting this year.

yea, true. but i need to start puting a run together, so it would kinda be nice to know ahead of time. you know?

haha, its gonna be some jumps and rails firgure it out. do you reallly expect to know what the course is gonna be? the people that build the course dont know.

100 ft step up to triple s rail to 80 ft cliff drop to s turns to rollers to 5 ft long by 10 ft wide box to 245 ft table.

^^n00b.

yea there is no way to know the course this early, just find a few jumps in a row and work on doing a nonstop line on those.

i know dude, it sucks. i was pissed when i found out. but whatever, it's still gonna be sick and rainville's gonna kill it again in slopestyle. i stand no chance. but whatever, it's just for the experience.

Any updates on the course? Anyone that was up there for the YGO, did you get a glimpse and the US open course for snowboarding (I think thats the VT open course too)

Miss Cleo never lies.

But seriously, US open for snowboarding is in like 2 days and the setup should be, setup. Anybody know!

I saw the US open course yesterday and it's pretty tight. They've got a flat down at the top followed by a slightly up rail. Then it goes into a 3 jump line - 30ft 30ft 40ft it looked like, could be bigger. and then a rail option at the end. Who knows what VT open will look like?

My bad I was trying to remember from memory what it was but I just uploaded the pics. This is how the course is set up: Some kind of Box feature to down rail at the top followed by a flat down rail into a 40ft table followed by another ~40ft table and ending with a rail option that was either a 20 ft flat rail or battleship style rail that I couldn't see from my spot. Here's the pics:

Sorry i didn't get a shot of the bottom rail option

so 2 rail , 2 jumps, rail option ? are you sure man , have you seen the course with your eyes cuz habitually they built a new course specially for the us open and vt open

yep as the photos can attest i have seen it through my eyes. Except for the last rail option, but it didn't look anything all the innovative or special. I rode up with some of the park crew on Sunday, and they were bitching about how the mountain doesn't let them build up shit anymore for slopestyle. But they built up a massive stunt ditch (20ft+ walls) on the Supertrail and that entire course is on the Super Trail as well. Plus they took the massive jump below the pipe in the Power Park as well as all the other snow around there and were shaping it up for a huge quarterpipe beside the American Express lift.

nah they're different, look closely and you'll see that the flat part of the top rail is split by the down part. Makes for a weird lip kinda

you can probably gap disaster the 2nd rail if you come off the first one with enough speed, but I highly doubt thatt you can disaster to the down part of the first rail. Then again I didn't run the course either, I just took some pictures.

In any case I saw the YGO setup the day after and it almost looks better than the US Open's setup. Hopefully something changes for the VT open.

there are four jumps i think maybe 3 can't really remember theres first a flat down rail then this thing where its two side by side flat rails and then its a down box between the rails when it ends that you can hop onto or supposedly theres a jump in the middle of the rails then theres the jumps small in length but the lips look like theyll kick you real high and then the last thing is either a nice looking up box with a gap to landing and then a long flat bar with a kind of real small step up gap onto it

and as for the quarter pipe theyve pushed down all of the last table and a lot of the super pipe to make it at least three stories with a huge transition (i left when it was half done) and it looks like theyre going to set up a rail way up above on the inrun so there you go i was there today should be some sick stuff going down

there are 4 jumps, the 3 first are all like 40-50 feet and the last is like 30 they all have huge ass lips. And the end is either a flat rail or an up box and at the top is a flat down rail with a small drop in between them

so If I understand english well it goes like, a flat rail or box? with a gap to down box , 3 kick of 40 -50 foot and the last 30 foot following by a choice of a up box or a flat rail ?

thanks

here is what the us open website said: The course was in good shape after hours of grooming softened up Wednesday’s seemingly reflective blue surface and as the men dropped, the sun decided to peek through. The first feature was an up-box transfer with left and right options gapping to a wide down-box. This led quickly into a flat-down rail and then into the jumps section. Following the four kickers, riders rounded out their runs with a final long up-box or down-rail option. The course at Stratton is always tight, so clean landings are mandatory.
