When you are electing a presidnet you tend to pick the one who best suits your needs you dont need to be intellignet to know what you want. Judging by what you just said in your post, you seem to think that 'What the american people are all about' is style over substance, Charisma over quality. They don't care if he's smart, they don't care if he'll make the right decisions... they just don't want him to be boring. Personally, I'd like to give the American people a bit more credit than that.

I believe the number was 23%, who voted based on morals. Most voted based on terrorism, and the ones who voted on morals had terrorism and Iraq as a close second and third behind moral issues. So don't make it out to be more than it is.

iq is a worthless form of evaluation, no one seems to be able to prove whether its inherent or something learned...i refuse to believe that some states are less intelligent than others...however, educated, yes i would argue that...and all you have to do is look at the states that voted for bush and we all know they are ones that tend to be known for their lower education standards...which only leads us back to the fact that masses of uneducated people have a huge role in determining the political fate of our nation...kind of makes me sick and feel like i need to go to sleep.

Another website put that information up a little while after the election, the numbers and states were nearly identical to the chart you provided. However, the original website stated they were 'The victims of a hoax' and retracted the chart.

Interesting, according to that poll California is in the top 15 highest iq, yet California has repeatedly had the lowest test scores and highest illiteracy rate out of all the states.

Jarret - I'd say thats because of the huge ethnic diversity there. The ability to speak a foriegn language, and get away with it in California is amazing. I'd say that's what skews the numbers.
