they might confuse libertarian and liberal... luckily theres no 'liberal' party on the ballot. hopefully they can read. also, the fact that badnarik is only going to be on the ballot in like .03 states says that his impact will be minimal, if nociable.

^When 14 year olds are judging me, you know I'm not on the ball. Anyways, read some John Dewey, and you'll see the problem with strict libertarianism. Can't say I'm too familiar with Badnarik's interpretation (nor do I care very much, unless it becomes asignificant political philosophy, of which possibility I am more than a little skeptical), but libertarianism in general neglects important aspects of free society by defining freedom too narrowly.

serously, this libratarian canadate came to speek to our class (we had a republican and a democrat too) and he was a crazy madman. he was like 'i carry my gun everywere i can, but i dont have ti with me now beucase im at a school' this guy was a little more down to earth though becusae he said he differes from the party in that he supports protecting the environment. he said that libratairians beleve that you cna do whatever you want as long as it doesnt empose on other poeple but in his ming poluting is imposing on other people so.... aslo, his financial plan called for lowering th buget in all ways and lowering taxes derastically. great that is all we need in colorado. he said that by doing this people would eventually have more money to themselves and donate it back to the community; BULL SHIT THEY WOULD!!!!!!

Above post not meant to be directed at Anewmorning. Anyways, I meant that people, when hearing about this spiffy new 'Libertarian' party, will probably dismiss it as some radical left wing extremist group, owing to its phonetic similarity to Liberal. Clear enough yet?

Anyways, I was under the impression that Badnarik was well represented on the ballot, but as I say, I haven't been following him too closely. You just hear a reasonable amount of uzz about him considering he's a third party candidate.

I'm not just a libertarian for legalization. I believe the government is way too powerful and needs to be minimized. I do believe that the government shouldn't have much to do with the economy and that there shouldn't be victimless crimes. Basically, I agree with the whole libertarian platform. Maybe you should give me a little more credit than that.

yeh, im a moderate libertarian, meaning i beleve in goverment regulation of somethings. I'll vote for badnarik and any libertarian even though most of them beleve in NO goverment regulation, just becuase we need a voice, and there better than the other options.

well, he is running as a member of the party. and from what i have seen, libratarians want to get rid of goverment period which is the opposite fo what i beleve. i belve that is the goverment is run by non corrupt leaders that have the good of the people in mind, the goverment can be strong and life can be good. i also think that cars are becoming obsolete for a number of reasons. for one, gas and the shortage of it and the $ of it. for 2, population of the world and even in the cities of the US, a car is just too expensive and too big to bother with (were talkin Manhatten here). think aobut it. if there was less then half the cars there are now and a shittload more busses that litterally when anyware you would want to be every ten minutes, wouldnt that kickass? and like bullet trains that connected to bassically any decent sized city. were talkin less money spent on roads, pollution controll and screening, and mabey even cheaper transportation for everyone (if you get enough people useing the system)

I used to work at network admin for the Libertarian Party's HQ in DC. My GF used to work there as well. I definitely reccomend reading the platform - you will see that we aren't anarchists.

BTW, Badnarik has ballot access in almost every state (I don't recall the exact number).

I see Libertaranism as the best solution, as its sole aim is to assert the power of the Constitution to define federal and state governments. As a double minority (mulatto and Jewish), I can appreciate the concept of limited government and the safeguards build into federalism - safeguards that both the Democratic and Republican parties would be quick to dissolve.

ya but that doesnt give back to our schools or our parks and reck or our read services or our police. im sorry but donating and buying shit have nothing to do with eachother. donating is where you give money to a group or organization for some purpos that you support. its not somthing people would do any more then they already do (not that often that is) if taxes were less, people, even if they did have those intentions simply dont think that way.
