Volkl Wall

I'm thinking about buying Volkl Wall next season, anyone know anything about next years model or this years and if they are the same?

Thanks!

I have next years and they appear to be the same as this years with a different topsheet and hopefully more durable construction. I haven't skied them yet though.

Ive had mine for about 2 months and theyve held up pretty good. there on the stiffer side but stil a great park ski and the stiffness makes it alot less scary if you go out of the park. Alot of people had trouble with ripping bindings out last year so be sure to get helix screws if you do get them

I have this years model, and they are already falling apart after only about 30 days of riding, I wouldnt recommend them

I had this years (the green ones) terrible quality, the tail top sheet ripped up and the front edge came off and bent under, making them unskiable. I sent them in on warentee and got next years. I fortunately have been able to ski them like 4 times and absolutely love them. The minute I got on them it reminded me of the green ones which i loved until i couldn't ski them anymore. They stiff ness is not too too bad and they are great for switch landings make excellent turns. They are bomb to say the least. I would highly recommend them. Next years seemed to have fixed the front edge problem without the black ring there on this years. If you like a nice stiff ski that can ski everywhere i would get them. They shred park unbelievable too. Now if you like a soft ski you wont like these, actually you will. I rode my fugitives (very soft) for 3 days and HATED them, no structure when turning it was just terrible. I would advise anyone to get a stiffer ski.

do u think it would be worth buying a pair of this years for mad cheep, skiing them really hard until u broke them (sort of on purpose), and sending in for a pair of next years?
...just a thought, i'd feel like kinda a tool but it would save some $$

I have the 07-08 model and I loved them. That is until both heelpieces ripped out and both skis began cracking under foot and my ENTIRE FUCKCING SIDEWALL ripped off. That's right, my entire sidewall ripped off and I was able to see everything inside the core. As a result of my decision to buy Walls this year, I am currently riding 1st generation Rossignol Scratch's just so that I have skis to finish the season! :(

DO NOT get the 07-08 Walls unless you're the type that likes a ski that won't last you a full season.

same problem as everyone. absolutely amazing ski, shittiest quality in the world. topsheets fall apart, edges crack like nobodys business, and alas i ripped both heel pieces out as well.

I have a pair and love them- light stiff ski- great for park. BUT the topsheet chips like crazyyyy and I cant even tell you how dented my sidewalls are and that is just after 30 days or so on them. I hope they dont fall apart next years because half the reason I got them was because of how durable Volkl skis are supposes to be. As for next years ski, a friend of mine said that the durability was only slightly better

Durability issues aside, how do these perform all over the mtn (ie: bumps etc...)

Is riding a symmetrical ski just horrid outside of the park

durability aside they are an amazing ski! i've skiied them in everything.. so sick but hey both my heelpieces pulled out.. i just got em redrilled and they're ok for now..

yeh i probably could have done.. if it happens again i will.. but i needed the skis at the time

These skis aren't actually that bad outside of the park. Carving isn't the best, but they can still do it. They are good in bumps, because they feel much lighter.

The walls are not light by any means. they are heavy as all hell. and my 07/08s on both skis delamentated in a wierd way with the edges around the whole front tip. They told me to rivit them for now and i have a pair of next year coming in the mail for free so thats pretty sick i just hope for next years they fix the durability issue because i don't think there was one pair of those skis this year that didn't come back broken
