does anybody know the dimensions or anything about these bad boys?

 
the dimensions are super fat, elizibeth style, possibly fatter. i thought i read about a 125 waist. it only comes in a 175 im pretty sure. not sure about flex or anything like that.

i heard 140ish waist. a LEATHER topsheet though?? sounds interesting, but hella easily scratched. they look sick though

ye, its prolly some synthetic leather so it isnt mad expensive and so it wont rip as easily too. That ski looks so sick thoughj

i forget exactly how ski layups work, but the edge teeth definitely are attached to the core or base, not the topsheet, so that wouldn't be a problem.

no no i'm talking about when your cross your skis and your egdes goug into your top sheet, i was talking about how nar of a cut you could cause in lether with a ski egde.

i remember seeing these in the volkl catalogue. they're prolly gonna cost a ton. i wanna know what they're for though. at first i figured they'd be for pow but that seems like a lot of sidecut for a pow stick. we may never know.

on a different note, look at that pic at the top. those skis are supposed to only come in a 175 (i think) and they are way over that guy's head. he's one short dude.

i think these would have a lot of unnecessary weight. water on the topsheet prolly wouldn't be a big deal as long as the leather is well oiled. like i have leather boots that are unbelievably waterproof b/c i keep them oiled.

Burton has three different special models of the Dominant, which has a leather topsheet, and they work fine with the snow on top.

What about the price......doesn't anyone know?

 
you can't cross snowboards though thats what they are saying would be the problem, crossing ur skis which would mess the leather

 
The MSRP on the Sanouk is $1000 and the Sumo is a bigger and more pimp ski. I can only imagine what it would cost...

The prophets have many competitors this season actualy, id say atleast 10 skis are going 120+waist(probably 20 if you go through all the no namers). The trend will stop soon though.

 
^i blieve your right in saying the trend will stop soon. i also believe once more people start riding fat skis we won't see skis under 90mm.
