Hi, I´m deciding which length to buy 184cm or 192cm .. I'm 5’11 (180cm) tall and I weigh 145lbs (65kg). I don't do many tricks or go on the switch. I'm looking for powder skis. I want them to be maneuverable and stable, but also playful. do you think skis revolt 121 are suitable? and in what length please? Thank you all for your answers and advice.

I would like to add that my current skis are line sick day 114 190cm. The length is fine for me. My problem is just in the woods and narrower passages, where it sometimes makes it difficult for me to turn. I would just like to solve this with a second pair of skis for powder and woods.

184 for sure.

Thank you for your answer. I'm also more inclined to 184, but Volkl has a biger rocker and a biger tapper compared to my Line Sick Day 114. Can't they be emotionally short?

I have the 190’s and find them to still be very maneuverable with how deep the rocker lines on them are. If your primary concern is for trees and tight spots the 184 might be a safer bet

man, sick day114s and revolt121s are very, very different skis as I am sure that you are aware. So before asking if it is the ski for you I think you kinda have to decide what type of ski you want wrt balance point and mount point - drive through the tips aka more traditional directional ski, or a ski that caters to a more "modern", upright stance.

SD114s are directional freetide skis with a -10 mount point, R121s progressively mounted freestyle skis mounted at -2.8. So one is meant to go fast one way while the other is designed to be playful both ways in soft snow. Both have fairly deep rocker lines and should be fairly approachable, but other than that they are quite different.

Revolt121s are awesome pow skis for sure, but their longer tails would cater to a much more upright and playful skiing style than your SickDays, especially in the longer length. Their slightly softer flex and increased splay out back could still make them feel looser in tight spots, if you can get used to the added length out abck.

If you enjoy the balance point of the SD114s (a ski you can drive fairly aggressively through the shovels, even if the shovels are pretty forgiving), but want something slightly shorter for increased nimbleness then I am not sure that R121s is your best bet - you will def feel their longer tails. You could always mount the bindings back a bit, but then getting a ski designed around a -6 to -10 mount point in the first place might be a better option.

suggested options - the first three being somewhat similar:

Revolt121s orBlack Ops Gamers, both mounted back 2-3cm

ON3P Jeffrey 118 at recommended or slightly back

Moment Wildcat at recommended (chargiest of the lot)

Dynastar MFree 118 mounted slightly forward of recommended (probably the loosest)

I would perhaps look at the MF118s mounted at +2 or +3 from recommended, in their longest lenght. That ski should charge, yet be pretty damned loose in soft snow.

If you want a directional ski that is fast and loose and perhaps a bit more soft snow specific you could also look into ON3P's BillyGoat118s in 187. They are designed to go fast, yet be increadibly nimble in soft snow. They absolutely slay variable snow and pivot on a dime. They are not as enganging on hard snow as MF118s, but are even looser in soft snow. They are no good for going switch. They are perhaps my favorite ski to ski fast on in tight terrain that I do not know as they pivot so easily, so dumping speed or changing direction is pretty effortless, while having better suspension than a full rocker design (full rocker designs also pivots on a dime).

Thank you very much for the extensive answer. You provided me with very interesting information. I know these are very different skis, but I'm looking for a second pair of skis. I'll keep Sick Day 114. I understand that there will be some better skis than Revolt 121, but they will be much more expensive. I have the opportunity to get Revolt 121 for a good price. I still have the opportunity to get an Atomic Bent Chetler 120 and Amrada Magic J for a good price. What do you think of them for my use?

Thank you in advance

ah, my bad - I thought you were replacing the SD114s, not complementing them with a more freestylye ski. That is an even better option though. My entire reasoning was centered around you replacing one with the other, and trying to make sure you didn't swing the pendulum too far. I did not mean to suggest that R121s are not awesome skis - they are - but they do have specific skier in mind imho.

The main difference between R121s and BC120s are their weights. If you plan on taking them touring the latter is the more appropriate ski, while the extra heft of R121s will give them a higher top end at the cost of increased swing weight. Their nimbleness in deep snow should be comparable - BC120s are alot lighter, but have more/longer camber, whereas R121s are alot heavier but have super long rocker zones and more forgivness aft of the bindings. Both can ski plenty fast, but RC120s will demand more of you as a skier to mute out variabbility in the snow at higher speeds due to their lighter weight - so you need to be smoother on them than R121s that will smash through stuff due to their higher weight.

Sure, there are some other differences too - flex patterns and where they are stiff/softer compared to each other (see pics below), camber and rocker lines, as well as where the skis taper off, but at the end of the day they still are not massively different in deep snow.

Magic Js are arguably more of a one trick pony compared to the other two - amazing at deep snow, but probably less capable everywhere else.

At the end of the day though R121s are amazing skis at a fairly competetive price, so seeing that you'll keep the SD114s around for more directional charging, R121s will be a perfect playful resort pow ski to round out the wider part of the quiver - especially if you can get them at a steal. I would go 184 for added nimbleness at your weight. And I would also opt for R121s over BC120s for resort use - their shape, flex profile and rocker lines will make them plenty loose and playful, so you might as well opt for their extra weight to gain a higher inherent speed limit.

Sorry to repeat myself a bit, but oh well.

Hi, i need advice between 2022 Bent Chetler 120 (192cm) or 2022 Revolt 121 (184cm). Same price with Marker Griffon 13id.

I am 6ft 183lbs.

And I already have Revolt 104 in 188cm length, i love them for light freeride and piste/park skiing. But they are not good enough in deep powder. Sure i would take Revolt 121, but im afraid that 184cm will feel too short for me, after 188cm Revolt 104. So at the same price i can get Bent Chetler 120 in 192cm length.

This is a good bargain, any mentioned pair with Marker Griffon 13 at 520eur.

Or is it worth to find Revolt 121 191cm even at some extra money instead of cheaper Bent Chetlers.

Need your advice, thank you!

I own revolt 121, 191 and 192cm BC120s

the revolts are way more chargy and handles crud better

but BC120 is pretty darn fun, especially in softer, and tight trees.

its win win

I'm 6'3 / 240 lbs.
