Volkl Ledge vs Armada Halo

looking for a new park ski, anyone had experience with either and can recomend one or the other? Im leaning towards the Ledges simpily because of the price tag. I ski on the east coast, mountain creek.

what do you primarily ski? mostly park? personally never ridden ledges, halos are awesome though.

Ledges blow outside the park. Probably cause I have no edges Fromm guttering rails but if you're in any fresh snow it can be challenging

I had the Alpha ones the first year they came out. Similar to the Halos, and I found that they were great in the park, but outside, they don't ski well. Especially on groomers.

Ive got the step, new ski for this year from volkl with the same dimensions as the ledge but with carbon stringers. The stringers stiffen them up a little bit but more in a poppy way as the ledge is like a wet noodle in comparison. When schlobby says theyre poor outside the park i dont know where he means because the step & ledge have a good sidecut for ripping groomers and the steps were stable at high speeds for booters and carving groomers. Whether thats because the step is a little stiffer is questionable. Sure theyre not going to be a great pow ski considering theyre a relatively skinny symmetrical ski but they werent unskiable in pow and the little bit of rocker helps. Im personally not a fan of armada skis and theyre ridiculously small turn radii on theyre skis like on the halo and having got volkls i would say go for the ledge or the step if you want something with more pop and general stability.

Let me clarify. They are super good on groomers and in the park. Outside the park in some fresh snow they arent that good. Especially if you get them mounted center. I love them for the park and casual groomer skiing but when you get a fresh dump theyre not as good. However I have the last year before they put rocker on them so that might have changed

Fair. You're not going to buy these for their off piste abilities though, or mount them anywhere but centre. Ive only rode them in fresh snow when i was drunk but they were definitely ridable. Not too hooky or much of a tendancy to dive so the lil bit o rocker seems to help.
