OK so this kid I know thinks hes the shit for getting some volkl karmas, i've never really heard anything about them, these skis any good?

Ski anywhere you can, anytime you can.

They seem pretty cool, but there is this metal piece which runs down the top edges of the topsheet and it makes me feel a little uneasy.

Damn right the kid can think he is the shit. Those skis are so awesome. If I didn't already have skis and a little more cash to spend I would've jumped all over those. Such a sick ski.

The karmas are one of the best all mountain skis on the market. The strip of metal strangthens the side wall. They are nice and stiff and volkl make a fucken strong ski so you will get plenty of milage out of it.

I honestly think that the Volkl Karma will prove itself to be the versitle ski EVER. It's stiffness will let it kill ice, have insane pop, and tear it up at mach 5. Its width will let you kill pretty much everyhting except neck-deep pow; while the cut will allow for ripping turns in any snow. And as they have proved in the past, Volkl's are bombproof.

better to burn out...

...then fade away

Nothing but love. I have them at my shop and they feel solid. I'll definitely be rocking a pair at some point this season.

now heres another question. How does the karmas work in the park. I love powder and big mountain but still i am mostly hitting the park. Right now i can choose between Karmas and Expressions. (i have last years V-pro's) What should be better choise Karma / Expression. I myself are thinking about getting the Expressions!

I have been rideing with Voelkl last 2 seasons and i can prove they ARE BOMB PROOF. u can fuckning nuke them and they still stick together. Voelkl ROCKs

the karma is this year's version of the v-pros so if that's what you've been riding, i'd say get the karmas. they are a way better ski than the expression

shit happens when you party naked

I was tlaking to one of the volkl team international riders the other day and asked him about the expression, he said they were shit and an entry level ski, he said the karmas were the park ski. This was coming from a man that slideds rails on his gotamas, and skis the sanaouks as much as posible though.

^that's exactly what i told someone in a different post but some dumbass was like 'no, i saw a pro on the v-exp's and he said they rocked'. a kid at my hill had those last year and they sucked. he only slid plastic boxes and he managed to bust the edges in multiple spots. and they're soft as hell.

shit happens when you party naked

not that it matters, but i saw some kid nose pressin' on a pair of karmas in new zealand last week, and doin some 270's on and off, seemed pretty good then. plus, the top sheets are mad durable which is nice since scratch's and pe's and shit get huge chips taken out of them easily. don't know about the bases tho, but i definitely want a pair of 177's for everything. or a pair of 180msp's

I've been using the karmas for 4 months now and they're my best skis ever, imagine the scratch Bcs but stiffer, with almost the same measures.

They rock in park and powder and are unbreakable.

All around gods. In groomed and ice they're fine too.

I think we can come to a general consensus that the karma is a awsome ski. If this post has stayed here this long with out people pitching there 2cents in about how they suck, shows that they are good.

Whats the bet now that the next post will be how much they suck though. Before you post though punk. ASk yourself

1. Have I skied them.

2. Am I a strong skier.

If you ave answered yes to these, post away.

the craziest volkl's are the gotama's

Here in New Zealand they are pretty much the same price as the ARV's. I think $100 more. So that is like $60US more.

yea^ thats fucking expensive... where d'you ski?

Gotama rules in powder. i have tried it one day in Val Thorens in France. everything feels so smooth. and when i went over the water it worked as a waterski allso i think i only used like 5cm of water depth only. but once u get on the tracks u feel like u have 2 snowboards attached to u'r feet. Ok offcourse u can ride them but its uncomparable with v-pros for example.
